Good bag at a great price!

by Barry, from United States, PA Written on August 29, 2014
I love the OPMOD Brief Case! It has plenty of pockets and internal organizers so I can satisfy my OCD and keep my EDC gear organized! The only thing I don't like are the attach points on the bag for the shoulder strap. They seem to be cheap metal D rings fixed to a thin piece of webbing that is sewed to the bag. I can see these breaking after some time. But that is where the OPMOD warranty will come in handy! Everything else about the bag is heavy duty! The material it is made from seems thick and durable. Overall it is a fantastic piece of gear and a great value! I would have given 5 stars if the shoulder strap setup was better....
Pros:
  • Made from heavy material
  • Plenty of room for EDC items
  • Configurable pouches plus MOLLE and lashing points
  • Easy access to concealed pistol
Cons:
  • Not impressed with shoulder strap attach points
  • I wish it had MOLLE on the outside of the pouches
  • Velcro field would have been a nice touch
Best Used for:
  • Everyday carry

A brief case that doubles as a medium sized range bag

by ehartwig1, from United States, NE Written on July 30, 2014
I wanted something in the mid sized range. I have multiple range bags so I thought I would try something different. This is listed as a modular briefcase and it would be great for that. The compartments will hold laptops, tablets, pens, paper and anything else you need, and protect everything you carry very well. I use is as a midsized range bag. 2 pistols fit great, and will hold more. The modular design allows you to customize it. It holds everything I need (if not going extremely heavy to the range) magazines, ammo, tools, etc. Is easier to carry than a normal range bag, because it is thinner, taller, not a box. Well worth the money....

Do not buy

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on April 14, 2014
After less than 6 months of daily use at school, the shoulder strap atachement broke down. I do not recommend this product, even less if you plan to use this more seriously than I. Modular pockets are fine.
Pros: Can carry a lot
Cons: Cheaply build...

This bag is great for any application!

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, IL Written on December 3, 2013
Once I got familiar with the bag, I noticed I actually had 4 bags in 1. The briefcase is spacious on its own and has lots of pockets for storing smaller items. There is also a separate zippered part in the front that would be good for your most important document to be easily accessible. There is a spacious laptop case with a handle that fits my 15" MacBook Pro very nicely. There is also an Ipad case that comes with a holder and carry strap. It even came with a waist-pack. Although some people are anti-fanny, I threw it on and remembered how practical they are! I was able to put my cell phone, some snacks, my knife, and multi-tool with room to spare. I will be sure to bring the waistpack on my next hiking trip for superior comfort! All in all, this was a very great buy. I would recommend to anyone that loves their gear to be protected all in one place.
Pros: Modular, lots of space, lightweight
Cons: n/a...

Surprised by the good quality

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, LA Written on August 16, 2013
I got this bag because it was a good price and I wanted to check out the quality of the OPMOD products. It's been my experience that a number of "house brand" products are quite inferior to their name brand counterparts. That's not the case here. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. This bag is very modular. A couple of the pouches can be unzipped and carried separately or zipped onto other OPMOD products. If I had a few OPMOD bags, I might find this feature useful. For me, this feature just adds to the weight and takes away from the space. My purpose for this bag was more of an overnight laptop bag. My rating of 4/5 for features is because of the over-engineering that has gone into the design.

The bottom line is that I don't think many people would be disappointed in the quality or features of the bag. And the price is an added bonus.
Pros: Very modular
Cons: Very modular...
