This pad does a good job of "taming" recoil, but is a royal pain to use in the hunting position my Dad and I like, which is prone. It simply will NOT work in prone, don't even try! It gives you a false sense of holding the butt, and then slips back allowing the recoiling scope to bite you! It works okay while standing offhand and somewhat okay while sitting if you do not lean forward too much. On our first use, Dad ended up with not one but three cuts on his nose while using this awkward thing. It is difficult to put on, as you need to reach back and attach a strap to your belt in back to keep it somewhat in position. It definitely shortens your "PULL" which is your reach to the trigger, so if you already have "a too short" arm for your gun, you may need to cut the length of your stock down a couple of inches with this pad. I bought two, one for Dad and one to tame my 300 RUM, but will probably not be using mine, and most likely will sell it. Lastly, it is made in China... need I say more?
Pros: Tames Recoil
Cons: Difficult to put on, only good for standing or sitting.
