Pelican case traveler

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, VA Written on February 19, 2013
I travel with Pelican cases 2-3 times a week. TSA has broken every other lock I have tried. These have held up for 2+ years. Just bought 10 more. Cable length is perfect for Pelican as well as my other luggage.
Pros: TSA Proof
Cons: None...

Pelican 1506TSA

I purchased this combo padlock for use on a pistol case or something similar. It failed for this purpose because the cable was too short.
Pros: TSA approved; easy to use; convenient.
Cons: the cable is too short by another inch or two....

TSA Pelican Cases Peli Lock

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on April 1, 2012
This lock does not secure the Pelican case in a complete closed position; too much play if you have loose items in your case.
Pros: TSA compliant
Cons: It does not provide tight tolerances...

Not Bad

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 28, 2012
I liked most things about this combination lock, except that the setup for your own code was hard to find (bottom right side in the photo above - and the side is not shown in the photo). You must press in an internal button while changing the combination. A little hard, but liveable. Otherwise it seems fine.
Pros: Gives me extra loop area I needed
Cons: setup is harder...

Great lock, but large loops

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TX Written on January 18, 2011
I still recommend these locks, but I can say that with only two on the reinforced holes, it is possible to open the case enough to retrieve a pistol.
Pros: Lock does what it needs to, secures case, somewhat
Cons: Loops are long enough to open case and get small items out...

Pelican locks "Perfect" for my pelican cases.

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, NY Written on August 20, 2009
Love these locks. But recently tried to purchase them again but pelican have redesigned them. Maybe it's better and have the same features. But I prefer the black color on the old design. Sorry, but bring back the black color! I had no choice but buy the current silver one.
Pros: looks sleek, strong and airport approved!
Cons: nothing...

Good Lock, but Not Usual Pelican Toughness

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, PA Written on January 9, 2009
As this lock is TSA-approved, it is very good for luggage. However, it doesn't feel as rugged as usual Pelican products.
Pros: Combination Wheels Turn Well
Cons: Doesn't Seem Rugged...

Unusable after one use

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on December 12, 2008
Without intending to, we accidentally bumped the dials and changed the combination while removing this lock from the case. After one use it is now a dead loss as we have no idea what combination we accidentally re-set it to....

Nice lock

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on July 31, 2008
Everything is fine with the exception of one thing. When you open the lock you have to bring it with in 3-4 ft. from your face. For reasons of the construction and how it fits on certain case. I use them for a 1550 and a 1560. In order for ne to open it I have to put the case at a higher elevation or get on my hand and knees on the floor, simply because of the construction and the way it fits on these particular cases.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Careful how you open it...

Pelilock 1506 TSA

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, FL Written on April 6, 2008
These fit perfectly on my Pelican cases and the Thermodyne cases for my cameras and lights. It provides a measure of security not possible since the creation of the TSA. Provides protection from opportunistic porters or airline baggage handlers looking for small, marketable, items inside.
Pros: Easy to use. Keeps the idly curious out of your stuff....
