3m Peltor Soundtrap

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on April 19, 2013
So far these seem like a great pair of hearing protection. I dont care for but dont mind the dual on off knobs that others have mentioned in posts. the battery access is not as easy to get to like other models or makes but was no problem with a flat head screw driver. Headset fits under MICH helmet with some movement of the foam pads in the helmet. Still waiting on some more range time for sound canceling review.
Pros: great fit, easy on off,
Cons: dual on/off knobs, sound input port??...

Great Headset

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on November 23, 2012
Outstanding headset. My primary rifle is an AR M4 with BUIS and LR scope on a LaRue mount. Weather Im using the irons or the scope, the lo-pro design of the muffs allows me to get right into my cheek weld with no obstruction. The amplification of ambient noises is AWESOME, and the auto cut-off for damaging decibel levels works PERFECTLY. Great buy for the $$$
Pros: Amplified hearing with auto cut off
Cons: installing batteries...

Quality Active Hearing Protection

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 29, 2012
This is my first pair of active hearing protection so I don't have anything to compare it to besides the typical passive hearing protection used by most shooters.

I found this active hearing protection to be good for regular use at the range. You forget about the microphones/speakers and are able to just go on about your business without giving much though to it. I am able to hear pretty well with them but obviously some situational awareness is lost if compared to unprotected ears. I'm sure there is better audio quality out there but I think this is a pretty good deal for the price. I am happy with my purchase

Favorite Feature: Volume is easy to adjust independently on each side.

Con: My ears are a bit sensitive to prolonged pressure for some reason. Even though these are over the ear cups they still apply pressure to part of my ear which can be uncomfortable after a prolonged period of time.

Pros: Audio quality & independently adjustible audio for each ear
Cons: Comfort...

Peltor Tactical 6/ Sound Trap Slim Lime

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on September 16, 2008
I got these besause I wanted quality hearing protection without breaking the bank and the specs state they have jacks for connection to audio accessories. What the specs dont tell you is that you must separately purchase the cables with a two pin plug to use this feature at a cost of $20-$40 depending on the application.

Pros: Comfortable and Quiet
Cons: Requires additional Accessories to meet advertised potential....
