These are by far the best ears I have used for shooting. Easy to adjust to your head, and they stay adjusted. They are very effective in responding to the bullet being fired and you barely here the actual shot. Yet when there are no gunshots, you can here people and things around you like you didn't have the ears on.

Pros: Lightweight, easy to use, effective for powerful handguns
Cons: Requires earmuff removal to access batteries
Would recommend: yes

These are great hearing protectors for handgun practice at the gun range. The Pelcor silences the gun blast yet it amplifies ambient noises and voices so that you can communicate with them on. Great for hunting and listening for animal noises while in the woods.

Pros: Fits well. Very good noise reduction rating (NRR).
Cons: Peltor uses 1980's vintage electronics.
Would recommend: no
jrt wrote:
After a loud impulse noise, like a gunshot, Peltor's electronics supress amplification for more than a second! This makes hearing range commands or other normal-level sounds difficult, expecially in noisy environments, like indoor firearm ranges. Most other manufacturer's hearing protectors regain full amplification of (moderate level) sound in milliseconds.
