Perfect for what I wanted. My bird feeders are quite close to the house, and I had a hard time finding binoculars that would focus at that distance, and also had good eye relief. I can keep my glasses on and get an up-close view at the feeder. As a bonus, the 18 inch focus makes these like a "field microscope." My nephew thinks looking at bugs with these is the coolest thing ever!
