Great Product

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on April 16, 2012
Great range bag for my Kahr 9mm. Holds Pistol, Spare Mags and 150-200 rds ammo, some small items, Earmuffs & plugs, and Eye protection easily. Solved the high mag loop problem by putting a 50 round box of S&B's in the bottom of the pockets, that makes a perfect fit for my 6&7 round Kahr Mags.
Have also carried a 9mm Luger and an FN 25 cal vestpocket in the center section along with my Kahr on occasion as well by wrapping the center gun in a piece of bubble wrap.
Pros: Size, Price...

Sweet grab-n-go case

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, IL Written on June 20, 2011
(NOTE: This review applies to the MEDIUM case.) This is a sweet little case that's perfect for carrying a pistol, loaded mags, spare ammo, earplugs, & safety glasses for a quick trip to the range without carrying a full bag. I use this case to carry a KAHR CW40, and the mag pouch with elastic strapping secures the numerous single-stack 6-round mags I've got. I only gave 4 stars for usability because (like the large case) the strapping is sewn very near the top such that short mags might slide out of the strapping when the case is picked up. But for me this case is sweet. FYI: The Plano logo is embroidered in white on the front and this can easily be personalized by coloring it with a colored sharpie. I used a black sharpie to color in the logo on my large case and a Navy Blue sharpie to color in the logo on the medium case. Doing so also would allow a members of a household with numerous cases to at-a-glance ascertain the contents by logo color.
Pros: Smart design, strapping secures (tall enough) mags during transport
Cons: Straps to hold mags are right near the top, small mags might slide out during transport....

Review of the LARGE pistol case

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, IL Written on June 20, 2011
(NOTE: the following is regarding the LARGE case.)This would be nice case except for one glaring problem: The elastic strapping to hold the magazines in place during transport are sewn in the wrong place (too high). You don't notice it when the case is open and facing you on a table when you're putting the mags in, but once you close the flap and pick it up, the mags all slide down out of the strapping and end up as a big pile of loose mags. Since I can't post a picture that would immediately convey the problem, I'll provide a few dimensions. My Glock 21 mags are approx. 4.5" long. The bottom edge of the strapping is approx. 5.25" from the bottom of the pouch, so you can imagine how the mags simply slip out of the straps during transport. Maybe this wouldn't happen if the mags were unloaded, but I carry full mags. Also, my question is this: Why didn't Plano simply lower the strapping (to roughly the middle of the pouch instead of right near the top) to eliminate this problem? The impression I get is that this is a product that was rushed to production after being designed by someone who never actually used or carried around a prototype. I can't recommend this in it's current configuration. If they move the strapping lower to the middle of the pouch (so it would hold my mags) then I'd HIGHLY recommend it.
Pros: BIG! (Can't imagine a pistol that wouldn't fit in there)
Cons: Elastic Magazine strapping is in the wrong spot...
