Pros: Excellent noise reduction
Cons: Weak head band, bulky, expensive batteries
Would recommend: yes

The best hearing protection I've found at 33db noise reduction. But, the plastic headband breaks easily, especially compared to the steel headbands most have at this price point, the batteries are the expensive N-type instead of AA or AAA. And they are bulky, but that's also part of why they're so good at noise reduction. Fortunately, OpticsPlanets stocks the head bands!

I have owned both pairs for 2.5 years and I must say that the Peltor are the nicer headset. I have used both indoors (handgun/12 guage) and outdorrs (12 gauge, .17HMR and 30-06. The Peltors feel beeter on and muffle sound much better. The Pro Ears have the highest db rating, yet the Peltor do a better job of sound deadening. Two of my shooting buddies have tried both and Peltor is the unanimous winner. Also, the battery location in the Pro Ears resembles what you might find in a $60 pair of Headset. The Pro Ears are by no means bad but the Peltor are superior.

I ordered Pro-Ears Pro Mag Gold Shooting Hearing Protection Headsets GS-DPM from Brisbane, Australia.
The product arrived in perfect condition after one week.
As soon as I opened the box, the product could be immediately used.
I tested it on my ride-on mower that has an incredibly loud Briggs & Stretton engine and then at the range.
The reduction of high energy sound waves is excellent as well as the discrimination capacity of the electronics that enables voice and low intensity background sounds to be reproduced in real time.
The electronic circuits can be switched on and off and it is possible to set a different volume level per each ear.
It is also possible to connnect an external audio source such a mobile phone or a music player or a radio by a standard jack.
This product is marketed for shooters but it works great in noisy workshops and with gardening tools too.
Price is a bit high but only if we compare this product's price to the price of some other lower ...

Bought a set for myself and my wife with the belt clips. She noticed the improvement over other brands that we own immediately. We are both pleased. She has great hearing and wants to keep it. I have not so good and want to keep what I have left.
