Awesome sight

by Celtic Centurion, from United States, AZ Written on October 4, 2014
This flip sight was quick and easy to mount. Mine does click and stays where set after flipping to the down position. This sight is nice for Law Enforcement because it doesn't interfere with patrol car racking systems and is reliable at a flip. This sight stays zeroed once set....
Pros:
  • Easy to use and set
Cons:
  • none so far
Best Used for:
  • TACTICAL APPLICATION

Unlike another review here my rear sight windage knob clicks into place and does not move when folding the sight down. I'm happy with the sight for the price I paid.
Pros: Easy set-up, made well
Cons: None so far...

First impressions are the lasting impressions

When I purchased my AR I initially picked up a Mag pull composite flip rear sight and wasn't impressed. I don't have an optic yet and will have to use my iron sights until I can butter my wife up. I saw this product and thought it seemed more durable/reliable than the composite type. Once I recieved the sight, at first glance it is exactly what I wanted. Easy to install, durable feel to it. Very quickly I realized that the windage knob on the sight doesn't click when turned so you don't really know how far you are turning it. This by itself wasn't the deal breaker because I was able to finess it to sit where I wanted it. Once I finished Zeroing and qualifying I collapsed the sight I saw as it rotated down that this action caused the windage knob to turn on it's own, effectivley ruining my zero. This could be a defect to my specific sight but as a result I would not purchase this same item again or suggest to to a friend. I am a LEO and use this weapon for work so when I pull my rifle out it is important that the rounds go where I want them to go. Just a little too far left or right could have tragic consequences. Sorry for typos, no spell check.
Pros: It looks pretty
Cons: Is not at all what I would expect from a duty sight....
