Great Product

by Chris, from United States, MI Written on December 16, 2014
This scope has a great picture for both day and night. If you are deciding whether to go with the N550 or N750, go with this one. I own both and it is hands down better than the N550. The only con is battery life....
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Battery Life

Faulty Scope

by Melecio Abordo, from United States, KY Written on November 1, 2014
This is my third Digisight scope. Has been very satisfied with my first two purchases so I purchased a third one. Worked well the first time. After two weeks in my gun safe, I took it out again to do some night plinking with my friends. Tried to turn on the scope and it just went dark. Put on new batteries and still won't work. Glad that I am still able to return it back at full refund. Hope this is just one of the defective scopes....
Pros:
  • Easy to install
Cons:
  • Inconsistent off/on switch

Wow... What a step up from Gen I night vision!

by Doug, from United States, TX Written on September 28, 2014
I have dabbled with night hunting using Gen I+ NV for the last few years. I had had pretty good luck using Yukon products, as long as I used a good illuminator. I decided I wanted to upgrade, but wasn't interested in Gen III PVS-14 or the like due to the cost. Even quality gen II runs over $2k, and tube life can be short... So I decided to try digital.

I am very impressed. Totally functional, even on a heavily overcast night with no moon. The laser illuminator on the unit is superb. I could see detail in objects at over 400 yards. Definitely a huge step up. in addition, because it can be used in the day, it was easy to sight in, and the one shot zero really worked.

If you are looking for a huge upgrade to your gen I, or looking for a great unit to start with, and are trying to stay under $2000, I say give it a shot....
Pros:
  • compact
  • Easy to zero
  • relatively light
  • day or night
Cons:
  • Illuminator sucks down batteries

Perfect for wild hogs

by SNAFU, from United States, FL Written on September 26, 2014
This is a great addition to any hunters bag of tricks! If your predator hunting or if your after wild hogs, this scope is great. Its on par with Gen 2+ units. As far as the IR goes...most of my shots are 50-75 yards and it works great. The display is clear and the unit is pretty easy to use. There are only a couple of draw backs that I could mention. The first is how the unit is sighted it. Its not "hard" but its nothing like the traditional method, it has one knobb on the side thats used for all movement of the crosshairs. I tried the one shot zero, but ended up shooting more anyway just to be sure. The other draw back is the batteries. Make sure you take along an extra set, they seem to go fast. Over all this is a great scope and I would buy it again in a second! Optics planet is great to deal with. Everything went very smooth....
Pros:
  • Very clear
Cons:
  • Battery Life
  • sight adjustment
Best Used for:
  • Wild hogs

Best drunk purchase ever

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on March 20, 2014
This thing is well worth the money. The IR light that is attached is good but the streamlight IR light that I bought to accessorize it with is unreal. I was considering buying the doubler attachments for it from the guy in Portugal but after using the nv and streamlight together I figured out I'm not going to want to drag a hog back from the distance that is available to me now
Pros: Clarity, weight and size
Cons: No lens cleaner...

Good quality for the money

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on December 10, 2013
I use a lot of different night vision equipment for feral hog control. I was attracted to this unit because of the day/night compatibility, and from what I had seen, it's capability at night. I must say, it is on par with gen 2 systems, as it is far better than any gen 1 system. However, it is not quite on par with gen 3+ systems (I own and use gen 3 with ITT pinnacle tubes). One thing that is note worthy is that the image quality itself is not as sharp as traditional night vision, particularly the 3+ systems. For example, I cannot read a license plate from 50 yards, whereas a 3+ you can very easily. That being said, this unit really shines in that you can take it out in broad daylight, sight it in, and then take it out at night and it performs equally well. Traditional night vision can be used during the day, but only with lens caps and other limiting setups. As the scene gets darker, the ccd camera starts putting out more and more noise, as one would expect. Like all night vision though, you have to have some ambient light. When that drops too low, even gen 3+ needs an active illuminator. The laser light on this unit is quite adequate, and works very well when ambient light is too low. The rail on the side of the light is nice, in that you could mount yet another illuminator for even more brightness, or an extended battery pack, or even a digital recording device that plugs into the outlet. All and all, for the price, a very good balance of performance, that wil...

Excellent product - good value

Excellent scope with very good illumination using on-board Illuminator. Adding a secondary illuminator to the accessory rail greatly improves performance.

Pimp it with extras

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, SC Written on June 20, 2013
OK, The unit is well constructed and light compared to some of the units I used in the Military. I bought the "Doubler adapter on ebay from "colmarlowe" Which works on the principal of the "Cantilever" is anchored at the top. The beam carries the load to the support where it fits nicely into he scope 's recessed housing in the front and is forced against it by cantilever force. Cantilever construction allows for structures without external bracing. (Think of the Golden Gate bridge) Then I added the Yukon doubler night vision scope lens. (Nothing made for a camera) to colmarlowes "doubler adapter" and SHAZAM! I also added a TNVC torch pro IR Illuminator on top of the unit (The doubler lens adapter from colmarlowe has a rail accessory on top of the cantilever) and I am looking at insects on big white flowers at 100 yards! (You have to adjust the focus knob on the scope, and the diopter on the eye piece and it is very very good. But here is the kicker. With the yukon doubler lens on "colmarlowe's doubler adapter I can screw the Yukon lens in or out to fine tune the focal length (And lock it with the locking ring) and I can now see insects on white magnolia flowers at night at 100 yards!!! (Colmarlowe is an engineering genius)He takes a good scope and makes it phenominal!!! I am watching deer out at around 300 yards and I clearly saw a does urine stream with amazing clarity!!! (With the TNVC Torch pro IR illuminator) If you are only going to use the onboard IR then unscrew the ca...
