Works well on a Pulsar N550 Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, GA Written on May 21, 2013
The Polaris 805 IR works great for hog hunting on my Pulsar N550 Scope. I first tried the Night Optics IR-K2 Extra-Long Range Pro Variable IR Illuminator could not get it to work out of the box. Sent the Night Optics back got he Polaris used it several time and works great on wild hog night hunts.
Pros: Mounts easly to N550 scope, uses AA batteries
Cons: It would be nice if it had a LED to show it was on....

Added this IR flashlight to my recently purchased Pulsar GS 2.7x50 night vision binocular. Got awesome results in illumination brightness. I am sure it provides a significant boost to this gen. 1+ device. Great for night hog hunting.
Pros: small size and low cost
Cons: none...

It's definately a step up from the on-board IR illuminator but it doesn't blow my socks of either.
Pros: Mounts and looks great on my Pulsar Digital NV scope
Cons: Not real high power...

THE VARIABLE BEAM WORKS EXTREMELY GOOD,ALSO THE POWER ADJUSTMENT IS SMOOTH,THE BUILT IN WEAVER MOUNT MAKES IT EASY TO MOUNT ON ANY NIGHT VISION SCOPE,INSTALL A WEAVER BASE WITH DOUBLE BACKED STICK TAPE AND IT IS A SOLID CONNECTION.I AM SO IMPRESSED I ORDERED ANOTHER UNIT,I PLAN ON PUTTING TWO ON THE SAME NIGHT VISION DEVISE,ONE SET FOR BEAM AND THE OTHER SET FOR FLOOD THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS,THE VIEW IS SO BRIGHT YOU CAN SEE IN ALL THE SHADOWS ON THE DARKEST NIGHT,THIS I/R LIGHT TURNS A GEN #1 INTO A GEN #3 PLUS VIEWS,IT IS SMALL LIGHT WEIGHT AND WELL MADE FOR THE PRICE YOU CANT BEAT IT.
Pros: TURNS YOUR GEN #1 INTO A GEN #3
Cons: NONE...
