Bought two Pumas - The White Hunter with Jacaranda wood handle and the Bowie with stag in late 60"s for $40.00 each. YES..$40.00 each. I did sell the White Hunter as the Bowie became my camping blade. However I love the "White Hunter blade and at the time I also bought two other knives identical to Pumas which I believe are a Puma off brand under the name "PIC". They are not as "polished" as the Puma brand, but I paid @20.00 each for those. Kept both of those.
Dropped the Puma Bowie "few" feet once on the rock, climbing, bent the tip and the Co just sent a new one - GREAT. The blade held me up in rock crack while climbing. They DONT hold edge that well. So, I like the knives but would not pay $300.00 for them. At that $$ there are better out there.
