Great tool for the bag

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on February 26, 2014
I used this knife to clean a couple deer this past weekend. Loved using this tool. It works great. The blade opens easy and holds its edge. Only concern is that our whitetail are a little small for such a powerful tool. Too bad it can't reduce ground shrinkage! It was a gift and it would of been money well spent if I'd had to buy it myself.
Pros: Sturdy, Holds Edge
Cons: Maybe too good for a little whitetail...

Great little tool.

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, IL Written on February 17, 2014
I have taken many deer in the last 25+ years of hunting. I have always used my old knife to field dress and skin out my deer. No matter how much I tried I either clipped something I didn't want to, or myself. I have always wanted a field dressing tool and, although the season is now over, I finally have one. I cannot wait until next season to try this baby out on another harvest.

This Viscera 3-in-One Filed Dressing Tool by Real Avid will make field dressing a breeze with the 3.75" 440 SS drop point blade, oversized gut hook and self-cleaning saw. Just press a button and flip from the sharp blade to the bone and gut hook. The ballistic nylon sheath makes it easy to carry and have accessible. The bone saw is the sharpest saw I have ever seen and the rubberized swing handle will it allow for easier handling when things get a little messy. Right out of the package I shaved the hair off of the back of my hand - so I know the blade is sharp and will hold an edge. You won't disappointed. This may even replace your old faithful. Take it hunting camping or anywhere you would take your old faithful.

Pros: very sharp
Cons: hold down snap was a little tight at first....

Great tool

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on February 15, 2014
This is a great tool. It is easy to switch around between the knife, and the bone saw/gut hook. Handle looks flimsy in the packaging, but once you hold it you realize how sturdy and well built it actually is...

All in One Field Dressing Tool

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, MN Written on February 5, 2014
This is a well constructed tool. This tool is an all in one for the whitetailed hunter out there. My only issue is it is a bit large for field dressing but the blade side would come in handy for skinning.
Pros: All in one, Wel built...

A great knife for all types of game.

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CA Written on February 5, 2014
I received this product too late for my big game hunt but it worked great for closing weekend on ducks and geese. The handle fit comfortably in my hand and worked great when it was wet and full of blood and feathers. The saw cut excellent through the bones, like a hot knife through butter. My only complaint is that the button to switch blades is only on one side of the knife. Otherwise this is a great product and I will definitely tell my friends about it....

Real Avid Viscera 3-in-1 Game Cleaning tool

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, GA Written on January 30, 2014
When testing the Real Avid Viscera 3-in-1 Field Dressing tool the handle proved to be not too bulky and to fit easily in the hand. The rubberized grips felt good but if was too wet did have some loosening while gripping. The oversized gut hook worked well and did not prove difficult and helped in gutting your prey. The saw for the ribs was okay for a whitetail in Georgia, did not try on an Elk or Mule Deer. Have tried it on a wild hog either. Overall good knife and sharp edge on drop point blade. One problem not with the knife but with the holster was the strap to lock the knife in would not fasten. I know that is minor detail but if you are climbing a deer stand and your knife falls out of the sheath as you move around it will not make your day any better.
Pros: Good value for the money...

One awesome tool

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, AL Written on January 27, 2014
I received the Real Avid Viscera 3 in 1 Field Dressing Tool at the perfect time. It arrived on Thursday afternoon. At first glance I was a little suspect as to how well made it truly was. The handle material looked a little cheap but after opening it and actually holding it in my hand, I changed my mind. It has a really good feel in my hand. Well balanced and very sharp right out of the package. The only concern I have with the design of it is the little button for converting the knife to the saw. It worries me that with rough treatment it's not gonna last long. The scabbard is made from good material but who ever is in charge of riveting the strap to hold the knife in, fastened it off center, so when you try to button it, you have to fight with it a bit. Over all though it's very well made. I had just enough time to familiarize myself with it before I went hunting on Friday morning. No luck on Friday but Saturday produced a nice little buck. When I got in the stand, there was a limb in my face that I couldn't just break off with my hand so I decided to try the saw on the knife. It worked great. After I shot the deer, I went to do the field dressing and the only way it would have been easier is if the buck had of had a zipper in his chest. I had no problem getting it started and even though the deer was very fat, the opening was big enough to not be a problem. Once I got home with the deer and got down to skinning him, I had my usual 3 skinning knives handy for the job. Usua...

Great hunting camp knife

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, MO Written on January 27, 2014
This knife came in too late for deer season, but I have used it on small game and have played on an old skull cap to make a rattle. It worked great and seems to hold an edge. Easy to grip even when wet and the bright orange makes it easy to find if you lay it down.

By making it a foldable it has to have a short saw stroke that is hard to get used to. And, I wonder how sturdy the locking system is for the pivot. Other than this, I have found my new favorite knife.
Pros: Great size, Sharp straight from the packaging, versatile
Cons: short saw stroke, keeping the pivot point clean...

VISCERA 3-IN-1 REVIEW

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, PA Written on January 27, 2014
I really liked the Viscera 3-in-1 tool. I compared it to an Outdoor Edge Swing Blade that my son owned. I liked the way the handle felt in my hand. The size and shape of the blade are good for most medium sized and big game animals. Not much effort was needed cutting through bone and the gutting hook worked without any problems. The sheath has reinforced edeges which are nice. My only complaint would be that the snap on the sheath was flimsy and hard to use, especially when the sheath was on my belt. All in all, I would recommend the Viscera 3-in-1 to other hunters.
Pros: HANDLE, BLADE, SAW, HOOK
Cons: SNAP ON SHEATH...

Great Combination Tool

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, NY Written on January 27, 2014
Just received this as a gift. Came from the factory with a great edge on the knife blade. The grip is very nice with a good size and good gripping material on the handle. Blade locks in tight in both knife and saw positions. Easy to switch from one to the other. This will allow me to carry one tool instead of two or three. Only negative is the strap to hold it in the sheath. Difficult to snap the strap closed around the handle.
Pros: Sharp, Locks tight, Multi-Purpose
Cons: Sheath retaining strap. ...
