Clear view with a great zoom

by delia, from United States, DE Written on April 16, 2015
Clear view with a great zoom, hard to beat for the price. I was slightly skeptical with some other reviews I read but now that I have used it myself I would easily recommend this to anyone. Buy this spotting scope!...

Redfield Rampage 20-60x80

by Tino, from United States, TX Written on March 21, 2015
I bought this scope and I was very pleased with its performance. I used this between 200 to 500yds and it is clear enough. It is very versatile. I could look at my targets from the top and sideways. I have had very good experience with Redfield and they have not let me down....

Very good buy for the money

by John, from United States, CA Written on March 5, 2015
I use this scope for long range shooting out to 700 yards. The glass is clear, sharp and bright. The focus adjustment is a bit on the sensitive side, but works well. The location of the adjustment knob, the angled eye piece and the extending sun shade are well though out. The ability to rotate the scope on its mount make it nice to use when shooting from a bench. I would have given it five stars, but I had to tap out the threads of tripod mount. The tripod that came with it threaded in OK, but when I tried to use either of my full sized tripods, neither would thread in. I had to buy a 1/4 x 20 bottoming tap to do the re-threading. Shouldn't need to repair a new purchase....

Redfield Spotting Scope

by Rex, from United States, DE Written on January 21, 2015
I researched alot of spotting scopes and read reviews to find that the Redfield Scope was the best for the price. I had been able to look at one first hand at the range and decided this scope would fit my shooting needs. Have always been a Redfield fan and hope to get alot of use with this scope. Optics Planet is always helpful when ordering items and shipping is very fast. Would recommend this scope for range use....

Good glass for the small budget.

by dukunter, from United States, IL Written on January 20, 2015
I bought this scope as it had good reviews and the price was right. I wish I had $1,000 to spend on a scope, but I didn't. So I had to consider scopes in the lower price range. I looked at scopes made by Vortex, Burris, Bushnell, Nikon and Leupold. At the end of the day, this wasn't at the top of the list, but for the price, it was by far the best value.

I use the scope for wildlife spotting and target shooting. It gets the job done on the range out to 300 yards, which is about as far as I shoot most days anyway. The clarity and light transmissions are well within acceptable limits for my taste. The 80mm objective really lets the light in. Works well stargazing as well.

Solid, rubberized construction. Lens caps. Carry bag. And it has a padded hood that you can keep on the scope while using it to provide additional protection. The tripod leaves a little to be desired, but I've replaced that with one I had around the house anyway, so not a big issue for me.

I would buy this scope again if given the choice. And the reality is, I COULD buy this scope again if anything were to happen to it because it was 1/2 the price of most of the other glass that I looked at. Which means I won't be crying when my daughter knocks it off the shooting bench. Before spending loads of money for a scope that gives you bragging rights at the range, take a peek at this one. My guess is that most of us non-professional shooters would be perfectly satisfied with this level of performan...

Redfield 20-60x80mm spotting scope

by JWitt, from United States, CA Written on December 10, 2014
Buy it
I have only had a few scopes to compare this to, none would I consider premium or high cost. I would consider this scope to be lower, mid range in price. In my opinion, you are getting even more than you are paying for in this scope. I am very impressed with its quality feel and optics. Very clear and bright, compared to all the other scopes I have used.
The protective cover that is designed to be left on during use, is very well thought out and works well. It provides a bit more protection when needed the most. Redfield could have left it at that, but they also included the carrying case and tripod, which are fine.
Great value, glass, construction, accessories, and made in America......
Pros:
  • Great value.
  • overall quality
  • Very nice protective cover + carry bag
  • American made!
  • Very solid build
  • Bright optics
Cons:
  • None

Awesome Spotting Scope

by Joe, from United States, UT Written on December 4, 2014
Was a little concerned that this scope wouldn't be as clear as some of the higher end scopes but those fears were unfounded. This is a great product for the price and was happy to see bright sharp images at the highest magnification. Scope is easy to focus and the FOV is great. I don't think anyone will be disappointed in this scope....

Great scope, toss the tripod

by Persimony Lickett, from United States, CA Written on November 3, 2014
I have not had a chance to use this scope in the field, but out to about 50X the clarity is excellent. The large lens pulls in lots of light, so anything lit up at night is clear as well. The only issue is the tripod. The operating handle threads are too short to engage the nut inside. I machined about 3/16" more shoulder space below the threads to fix that problem, but the rest of the tripod is still loose and wobbly. Find another tripod and buy it at the same time so you won't spoil the fun of your new toy....

Redfield Rampage 20-60x80 Angled Spotting Scope Kit

by Spiritrider, from United States, NC Written on September 6, 2014
I ordered this with high expectations and it met or exceeded every one. The scope feels well built with rubbered outside coating and has a good padded cover to put over it. The optics are clear and easy to adjust.
The only hitch was that the tripod that was listed was not available but Optics Planet stepped up right away and substituted a better tripod in its place you wont find this kind of service at many places these days. I buy all my optics here because of this service....
