Clear optics but poor turrets

by ChrisV, from United States, MI Written on March 10, 2015
I ordered this scope for my BAR hoping that it did the reviews justice. I am very disappointed with the turrets as the clicks are not positive and have a significant amount of backlash (both windage and elevation). The optics are clear and the light gathering is pretty good for the price. As the spec says - the eye relief changes quite a bit depending upon magnification. It's possible that I have a poor example, but hindsight has me wishing that I had taken a step up....
Pros:
  • Clear and bright.
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hunting

No lens covers

by mike, from United States, SC Written on January 2, 2015
I have mounted it and bore sighted it but not yet sighted in at the range. Glass is very clear, eyebox is generous, and it is very light. At this point my only complaint is the absence of any sort of lens covers. Let's face it, even the inexpensive rubber bikini style cover, which probably costs about 50 cents to manufacture, would have been nice to have out of the box. So now I have to locate some decent covers in the right size which is somewhat of an annoyance.
While I am here let me just say that I have several other scopes from low-priced Chinese manufacturers to a high-end Leupold Mark IV ER/T. The $1600 Leupold scope came with cheap plastic covers, one of which broke after about 100 rounds. I don't see why Leupold/Redfield can't just include something decent out of the box. You are already paying a premium to comparable scopes of Chinese/Phillipine origin so why not finish the product right.
I always want to support U.S. companies but little things like this make it difficult....

great scope

by Zak, from United States, LA Written on December 20, 2014
This scope is great, crystal clear lens, smooth easy adjustments and this accurange reticle is really great, gives you nice hold points for multiple distances without getting cluttered at all.
I was hunting with a friend yesterday and it was low light, he was trying to judge a buck but couldn't see too well with his scope, I let him look through my redfield and as soon as he did he simply said "that's a ****ING awesome scope". His next rifle will have a redfield, as will my future guns, and a couple I have already....

Redfield Revolution Scope

by Jimmy Carruth, from United States, GA Written on July 30, 2014
The best scope for the money hands down. That's why I own six of these scopes. They are great for big game hunting and excellent for varmints as well. Super clear and an excellent warranty. What else can I say. Great product....

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on November 16, 2013
I've owned lots of scopes and this one is nothing particularly special, but clear and for the price point and an american made product its a good buy. Pairs great with my Ruger American 243 Win.
Pros: Good solid american made scope
Cons: Nothing to write home about...

Good scope

Great scope but as I seen in other reviews the adjustments for the windage are sloppy. The elevation adjustments are fine but I can't feel the click on the windage.

Redfield has nice glass!

by treemaniac, Verified Owner from United States, WA Written on September 8, 2013
Got this scope for my moms 300 win mag to replace the cheep one that came stock. Shes not a sniper so I just got the standard duplex reticle and normal turrets. The objective changes from 4 to 12 with about a quarter turn of the ring, makes it easy to tell what power your on and quick to adjust. nice glass (same as leapold) only complaint is the eye relief is over 4 in on 4 power and goes to about 2.5 inches on 12 power. Overall a great buy!
Pros: nice glass
Cons: long eye box...

Redfiled on CZ 30-06

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, IL Written on August 22, 2013
Bought the CZ to go on an old CZ 30-06 but the eye relief was not long enough and the tube was to short for the gun. So, great scope but do not order one to fit on a CZ. ...

Hard to beat this scope for the money

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WI Written on August 3, 2013
I now have three of these scopes, it is very easy to use and very accurate. I couldn't be happier with this scope, works great on my 30-06 and holds it's zero. Redfield still makes a great scope.
Pros: Very clear and bright optics
Cons: none...
