In any sense, this product doesn't work as advertised.
Though it claims to have a 4000 mAh battery, it doesn't really. The battery pack works as advertised, but only puts out about 1,000 mAh before it's dead. Yes, I realize it needs a few cycles to reach its full capacity, but after 20 tries, it's nowhere near the stated capacity.
The solar cell is completely ineffective, either because it's too small or the charging circuitry is improperly designed. As other reviews on the web have stated, it will NEVER charge the battery to any sort of useful level. From dead it will return it to "1 bar" on the 4 light built-in scale, which still equates to being to low to do anything productive. Even if left in a window, or windshield, for days, weeks, or months, it will never bring the battery over the "1 bar" charge level.
Admittedly, the crudely translated instructions do state to charge the battery from a PC to make a full charge, but that's nowhere in the advertising, whatsoever. So, although it appears to have a solar panel attached, it's essentially a non-functional panel.
All this does well is to serve as an attractive paper-weight.
Cons: Battery is far less than advertised, solar panel is completely ineffective, cables are very cheap/sloppy, instructions are crudely translated at best...
