This is a very good duty holster for my Glock 23. Great quality and holds weapon securely without movement of gun. While there are similar holsters from other companies that are faster out of the box, with practice it is just as fast and even way more secure. I extremely disliked the plastic hood guard....even after practicing for hours, under stress I would hit it every time and it slowed me down. Watching the safariland videos of it, I noticed them hitting it too so I didn't feel to bad. Took 30 seconds with the tool that comes with it to remove and problem solved. Practice, practice, practice with this holster. You have to develop the proper technique to have a smooth quick draw. Sliding the hood forward felt grainy, awkward and slow at first. Once I learned to roll my thumb forward, starting with the tip and hitting the als release coming back with my knuckle, it became very fast and natural. I don't like that the hood extends a third of an inch or so past the screw where it rotates on the outside of the holster. Sometimes it hits my trigger finger and slows the rotating down. still working on that. Even with all these minor nuisances, under stress I draw the weapon fast and without problems every time. Based on that and the overall security of the holster, I plan to buy another when I start carrying a light on my weapon and need a new holster.
Pros: Durable, stx basket weave looks very nice, quick with practice, SECURITY!
Cons: hood guard
