ALS Holster

i bought this holster for my m&p 9 fs
it is a great holster which i have for my glocks and 1911 but this one didnt seem to fit my m&p. it said it is made for 4.5" barrel but my FS is 4.25" which might be the reason it does not lock up easily. i have to give it an extra push down sometimes which causes the slide to move slightly before it locks. It could be that it is just new and the retention is not adjusted properly. either way, i still think it is a great holster for the money. especially if you have the qls system and interchangeable holsters.
Pros: secure, stable, safe
Cons: not a perfect fit...

Now I know why everyone likes Safariland

I am comparing this directly with the Blackhawk! Serpa holsters. I haven't ran the Safariland during a course yet, but so far it is meeting all of my expectations. The release lever is easy to use, hard to accidentally press, and integrates easily with your draw stroke. I notice no difference in time between this holster and one with zero retention.

When I first got the holster, I noticed that if you pressed the release lever towards the holster and away from your body, it would jam the entire mechanism and make the pistol almost impossible to rip from the holster. This is NOT a deal breaker, because after a hundred or so practice draws, the mechanism wears in and will not jam any more.

I purchased a duty drop rig from G-Code, along with an adapter, so that I could lower the holster and use it on my HSGI war belt. As it sits, the paddle holster makes it a little hard to draw, due to there being no speed cut-out, but it is still very useable.

The only downside I can see is that since the retention mechanism bolts on at the top and front of the holster, there is no way to cut a portion out to make room for a red dot such as a Trijicon RMR on your pistol. No big deal in my opinion.
Pros: Solid retention, locks into ejection port rather than trigger guard, cheap, upgradable, retains handgun with or without light attached
Cons: Placement of locking mechanism means you cannot install red dot on handgun...

Great Holster

Great holster this is actually what I have been looking for and could not pass up on the price. Have it already set up on my battle belt for course and training. Great holster for a great price. The only thing to me it seems to have a bit of a forward cant, I perfer a zero degree cant.
Pros: Fit and Finish...actually the holster I was looking for
Cons: seems to have a bit of a cant to it...
