Serengeti Sunglasses

by Captain Fuzzy, from United States, VA Written on October 16, 2014
As an airline pilot I've had the opportunity to test fly many different sunglasses and compare notes with my co-pilots. Serengetis are unquestionable the best. The reduction of glare, increased visibility due to eliminating the haze due to the blue blocking tint while not just blackening everything out so that you can't see in low light is exactly what I want. The progressive lens in these is perfect for being able to see up close, intermediate for the instruments and scan for traffic in the distance. These are light and comfortable. Home run!...

I found my perfect match when we got in our first Serengeti Driver Sunglasses at our shop. I put them on, walked out into the sun and was amazed. Everything became super-sharp and clear, yet my eyes, which are quite sensitive to the sun, just totally relaxed. From that point on, I was not without my Serengeti Drivers, even after I finally had to get prescription glasses for distance. I could actually see to drive better with my plano Drivers during the day than with my clear RX glasses at night. Then ten years ago I "Graduated" to multifocal glasses, and had to settle for just polarized progressive RX lenses for my sunglasses, and of course clear progressive lenses in my regular ones. Today, I got my first Serengeti Driver Prescription Progressive Sunglasses from Optics Planet. These lenses are made of a relatively new and cutting edge material called Trivex. I am VERY impressed with the crisp, clear optics as well as ...
