This was bought for my wife's AR15, to set her sling up on the side of the rifle. Works perfectly.
Basically, this attachment allows you to put a sling swivel stud anywhere you have picatinny rail. You need an actual sling swivel, but that's the beauty - you don't get stuck with whatever they give you. You can choose your preferred type of swivel.

Pros: Simple & Easy
Cons: Can only finger tighten
Would recommend: yes

Given the stresses normally applied to a sling mount, I think an allen head or normal bolt head style would work better. This type of finger tighten is easy to move, etc but if you want a solid semi-permanent mount you have to scratch the head with pliers, or something similar.

Pros: Its cheap and does exactly what I need it to. Easily mounts on a picatinny rail and stays there. No need to spend 3 times the amount on overpriced sling mounts. You'll be happy with this.
Cons: Had a little bit of a problem attaching the sling adapter to the mount. The pin on the adapter didn't slide very easily into the whole, but it worked out fine with a little gun oil and elbow grease.

I had put a forward grip on my AR which had a flashlight holder. The under mount sling adaptor prevented me from using a flashlight because the sling was in the way. I installed the Shooters ridge adaptor on the side of the picatinny rail. Problem solved.

Pros: Works
Cons: Coarse screw thread, so I feel like it may work loose over time
Would recommend: yes

Everything seems fine, with one minor concern. The course thread of the lockdown screw makes me nervous that it can back off under heavy use. I have not used it much yet, but I would just check it periodically depending on conditions. I suspect they did that so it would release with fewer turns, but I would have been happier with a fine thread.
