Simmons "Blazer" or "8 Point" 3x9x40 rifle scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on September 19, 2011
Put this scope on my sons .22 rifle. The scope I recieved was not labeled "Blazer" but "8 Point" but had the same part number as the "Blazer". I guess this is a replacement model. Sighted in and after several weeks it is still doing its job. We have shot about 150 rounds through it. At this point I am well pleased with the optic.
Pros: good optic for the price
Cons: not sure yet...

Simmons 3-9

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on January 6, 2011
Ok, first of all I bought this scope needing optics for a .22LR rifle. The price drew me in, and I found it to be the best bang for the buck out there. This scope lived on that .22 for over a year until a buddy of mine needed optics for his .270 for a hunting trip but was low on cash. I gave him the Simmons in exchange for some ammo. The scope has now been on that rifle for almost two years now and is is still working great. What a value!
Pros: Price!! Clarity, reliability
Cons: None!...

Simmons Blazer 3-9x40mm

I recently purchased this scope for my Remington 700. I was immediately surprised by the clarity. It is very clear all the way out to 9x. For $50 it is well worth the money.
Pros: Great Price, Clear Optics
Cons: None yet...

Works, but not what I expected...

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, PA Written on July 21, 2009
Survived getting sighted in on my .444 Handi-Rifle. The lack of auto-focus surprised me and the location and effects of the 'fast focus' has ruined some of my plans for the scope. Also, the unit that I received did not have "rubberized" anything, so maybe they shipped me last year's model? I'm disappointed, but you can't return a scope that's been mounted, so I'll make do.
Pros: The scope works and seems to be able to take significant recoil.
Cons: The problem is that it doesn't auto focus, so you have to mess with this 'fast focus' ring at the eye piece, which doesn't feel solid and makes using any type of see-thru or flip up scope covers a bad idea as you either can't focus through the see-thru covers properly, or you cant adjust the focus with the slide-on flip covers. ...

Great Value

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on September 14, 2008
This scope is great bought two,(one 3-9x40 for my Marlin .45-70, and one 2-5x30 for my Henry .17HMR) Real nice matte finish, light weight, great optics especially considering that I bought 2 scopes, 2 sets of rings and two mounting bases for less than $100 including shipping!
Pros: Good Quality, Light Weight, Clear
Cons: Rings not included...
