I purchased these thinking Steiner's would be about the best binoculars I could find under a thousand dollars. I was very disappointed with these. The biggest problem is the severe glare at night and during the day. At night, nearby lights had a "star burst" shaped glare obscuring my view. During the day, bright sunlight created glare. The next problem was the eyecups are so tight I thought I would break them trying to adjust them up or down. They do not adjust smoothly. Lastly, the objective lens covers have no tab to pull them off. They fit snug inside the objective lenses and I had to pry them out with my finger. In the cold or with wet slippery hands, it would be very difficult to remove them. Also, the focus knob had too much play and was not firm and responsive. I returned these for a refund and will not buy Steiner again. After returning these, I found out they have already been discontinued by Steiner.
Pros: well constructed
Cons: sever glare, eye cups hard to adjust, objective lens covers hard to take off and put on
