Pros:  Well built, bright, long run time
Cons:  Heavy, but to get the above pros you have to give up something.
Would recommend:  yes

It just has a lot of light evenly spread out so it does not "shine" that far away. It is perfect for use in a campsite or within 200 ft. or so. I have not used the "spot" version so I cannot compare to it. The lens assy. is replaceable so I would assume the "spot" & "flood" lens would be interchangeable so with the purchase of another lens you could have both.
