Bought this to use with an NV monocular because the IR illuminator with the monocular created too much glare on EOTech 557 viewscreen to make it useable. With this filter and a TLR-1s, you can barely see where the light is pointing on a wall in a very dark room (with the monocular IR off)from 10 feet away. It might work for signaling someone else who is wearing NV gear, but that's it. If you need an illuminator for the same reasons I do, break down and buy a separate NV illuminator.

Well made lens cap. I am not an expert, but it seems good. Light (TLR-1) still may be too bright and I've heard that if a red light is too bright, it can still effect your night vision, but again, I'm no expert. Seems like a good accessory to have though.
