However, the strobe and low output settings are achieved by pressing the switch button twice or three times within split-second time limits, without doing it so hard as to latch it "on", or too lightly while working against a firm switch spring. If those alternate settings are very important to you, I recommend stepping up to another model that has a separate selector switch. (I have not received it yet so I don't know if that will fix it or not). The first person at stream light, some guy, told me to send it back to Optics Planet as it was only two weeks old. But first I decided to call streamlight to see if any quick fix might be available and to save the cost of the shipping and the trouble. The second tech person I talked to when I called back, a lady who was quite helpful, told me of the switch issue that they were aware of. I'll see what happens and report. Optics Planet was awesome to deal with, Great customer service, free shipping and my order arrived in 22 hours via UPS or FedEx I can't remember now. I will use Optics Planet next time FOR SURE.
