I purchased this to replace a couple of 2D department store flashlights I use around the house. These old lights wouldn't light up the ground enough to check for critters under our balcony at night. I was concerned that this little flashlight might not be that much brighter but made the purchase because of these reviews. I'm glad I did! This flashlight is easily 2 to 4 times brighter than the old lights, works reliably (I don't have to hit it on my palm to keep it lit), and the charger keeps it ready for use at any time. I picked up the DC charger for power failures. I like the variable beam feature: Works as a spot or flood light. Great light, works as advertised, maybe even better.
