Extremely bright light

by Xtremgrl, from United States, TX Written on April 7, 2015
This light is extremely bright for such a small package. I compared it to a TLR-2G that I own and the difference is astounding. I can't say how long it will last, but so far, great purchase, great price....

TLR-1 Excellent Quality

by andrew, from United States, TX Written on April 2, 2015
This is the second TLR-1 light I have purchased, first one for my side arm & this one for my patrol rifle. Long reaching beam, clearing buildings & other LE operations. Will be getting a third for my shotgun next. Installing battery is a little confusing first time but read the instructions first! Best light for the money & OpticsPlanet always delivers on time....

Perfect for the Beretta 92A1

by Dave, from United States, IL Written on April 1, 2015
The Beretta 92A1 has a Picatinny rail extending forward of the trigger guard that is a perfect match for the TLR-1 HL. When mounted, the light looks like it was made for the Beretta and the controls are simple and easy to operate. On the TLR-1 I removed the universal key and installed the 1913 key and there is no movement whatsoever between the postol and the light - there is a solid, snug connection; metal to metal. And the light is awesome - it is blinding and includes a strobe if you are inclined to disorient your target. I selected the HL model for the brightness and for the wide beam which is perfect for peripheral illumination. My use is inside the house as the Beretta is my primary home defense firearm. Having the light on the rail means I don't have two hands full with both a pistol and a flashlight....

TLR-1 HL is a great light at the BEST price!

by Yukon58, from United States, VA Written on March 26, 2015
Coming from law enforcement, a child of the 70s and cop of the 80s to present, all this "new fangled" technology is absolutely mind blowing! I still have my original 4-cell mag light, an early SL-20 Streamlight and have recently began updating all of my light sources to LED. We laughed at a fellow officer in the late 80s that tried to use an early "clip-on" for a mini-maglight at the range and fell off on his first round. I've come to rely heavily on Streamlight over the past 30+ years and the TLR-1 HL absolutely seals my confidence in Streamlight's engineering and design. I bought this for less than $115.00 with a coupon from OpticsPlanet.com and I couldn't be happier with the light or the deal! I only wonder how many bad guys got away with what would today would be considered inferior lighting? While some owners don't like the strobe, trust me, they work, it's a great feature. At this high a lumen, you can't think straight when it's flashing in your face. I showed my son (not on the gun of course)and he absolutely cannot look at the light source, it's that disorienting. It's an easy light to mount to any rail and it's aircraft aluminium design is solid. Some may not like the "shiny chrome ring" on the cap, but I hardly think it will give your position away or matter when your shining 630 lumens. I looked at a bunch of weapon-lights for my new Glock 30 Gen4, even at the Gl@@k weapon-light and was told by a Gl@@k rep to go with the Streamlight over their light or an...

I have had this light for a little over two weeks and so far it is working very well. It is very bright and the strobe function is quite disorienting. It isn't too big either, and I have it on my shotgun. Would recommend to anyone....

Streamlight TLR-1 HL High-Lumen Weapon Light

by El Sapo, from United States, CA Written on January 5, 2015
Great light! Super bright! I previously owned a TLR-1s(strobe)which had great function, but the power of the light left something to be desired. The HL model fills in the gaps of the the TLR-1s. The TLR-1HL has a higher lumen count as well as the strobe function found on the TLR-1s. However, it seems like the build material and overall quality have taken a hit recently. Seems like Streamlight has been cutting costs as the finish does not look or feel as good as my older TLR-1s....
Pros:
  • Inexpensive
  • bright
  • battery efficient
Cons:
  • Lower quality than older gen Streamlights
Best Used for:
  • Home Defense
  • airsoft training

Lights up the night

by Danny, from United States, OK Written on January 3, 2015
It's been weeks now with this light mounted on the front of my daily carry gun. I can't describe the how easy it is with the right holster. Through a low light training course, it added a very nice balance to my Springfield xdm. The light is bright, very easy to function, and so far extremely durable....
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • durable
  • Dependable
  • bright
Cons:
  • None
