The Great & powerful flashlight

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, NY Written on April 30, 2014
Purchased this Flashlight to be able to hunt in the evening and it has worked out very well. The light is so powerful and well made that I purchased another. It took a few minutes to figure out how to install the Battery so I recommend you read the instructions first.
Pros: Very powerful, easy turn on/ turn off switch & well made
Cons: Took a few minutes to install battery, read directions first. ...

Very bright. I have one mounted on a AR15 and one mounted on a AR10. I can easily see out to 200 yards on a moonless night.

Light is great, cord is junk

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on December 11, 2012
This is a mixed review. I have several Streamlight products and like the quality and brightness, but the pressure pad remote cord that came with the TLR-1 is too wide to fit any of the vertical grips that have slots for inserting. It has 2 holes that look more like it was designed for screwing to a wall. I do not understand why the accompanying pad is so large. Even more, why Customer Service at Streamlight has failed to answer repeated emails directly to them. I am disappointed in those aspects.
Pros: Very bright light
Cons: Pressure pad is too large...

I mounted this light on my mini 14 tactical and it looks like it belongs there right from the factory...I was afraid it would be too big looking, maybe too big of a bell, but it really is not that big...Would look too big for a pistol, but nice on a rifle/carbine. I am glad I bought it.
Pros: Very powerful light
Cons: none...

TLR-1 HP

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on April 10, 2012
Not for handuns... I purchased this for my AR-15. It puts out a 'laserbeam' style spot enabling it to reach and identify targets out to 100 yards. It also has a nice secondary flood beam good at close range. I didnt expect much out of 200 lumens but the (huge) reflector manages maximize the light output for distance. The reflector has its faults though, it can only be mounted at the end of a handguard with the reflector overhanging. On my AR this puts the reflector right behind the blast zone of my muzzle break. Leading to my biggest peeve... the reflector lens is plastic. The backblast not only coated the lens, it permamelted a line that looks like the hour hand of a clock once i cleaned it up. Still functions great and the light output is the same, i just recommend coating the lens with some oil or chapstick if it rests right behind the muzzle. Other than that, the light is great and light weight.
Pros: distance
Cons: lens...
