TLR-1S HP

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, OR Written on July 7, 2013
It has a very bright and focused beam. I was able to get a good sight picture through an unlit reticle scope at close to 200 yards with this light. The only down side is that it must be mounted at the very end of the rail. The front lens is too big to mount behind the front of your rail system. Still definitely worth the money....

Excellent rifle light

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, VA Written on September 22, 2012
I was looking for a bright long range light for my SOCOM rifle for home and yard defense. I found it. I have quite a large back yard to a creek with some trees and scrubs. The focused beam has a long range, so for out to 200 yards to see what is lurking in the scrubs out behind the house. The beam does not disperse and stays focused. Inside the house on white walls, its super bright! And not only with the focused beam but also some peripheral light. The mounting is easy, much easier than the other guys; push the mount (clamp) open, snap it on the rail = no sliding on, tighten the set screw with a nickle and its stayed on after a couple hundred rounds of 7.62x51 and being bashed around in the rig. The switch on the back is nothing new, works like it is suppose to but is large is size for use with gloves. I thought the remote switch would be of poor quality but its not; on and off instant with little pressure wearing gloves, do not have to find the sweet spot and seats well inside the light. The strobe function to me is a novelty with little actual value but fun, it can been programmed on or off. The bezel is quite large but comparing it to another smaller light that has to be mounted inside a 1913 mount, the actual size is the same distance out from the rail for this type of weapon light. Only comparing it to a light with an internal mount does the size of this light come into play, and its still not an issue. The TLR-1S HP is the ideal longgun light for home defense outside ...

Streamlight on an AR

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on September 18, 2012
I really love this light. I found it supre-easy to mount, including adding the remote switch to my AR's forearm. I also think the srtrobe mode is a big bonus. The light is plenty bright and the tactile feedback fform the switch is really good. I can even use it with gloves when training on a dark range.

The only minor complaint i have is that the "bell" the housing for the reflector is pretty big. It's not a streamlined housing. It's only an issue when packing the rifle to and from i worry about hitting the light as it protrudes a fair bit.

I've had it mounted for six months, the bettery life has been awesome and it hasn't drained while being locked up in the safe (some other lights will).

For the price you really can't go wrong!
Pros: Really easy to mount
Cons: light bell is a bit large...

Streamlight TLR-1

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, AL Written on April 16, 2012
I was looking for a rifle light that would give me more distance than my pistol mounted Streamlight. After comparing several different lights, I ordered the TLR-1 because of the cost savings it offered. I was very pleased with the light and mounting system. The r switch was easy to use (with or without the remote). I have found this light to be a great tool at a great value....

Fits perfect on rails, able to remove quickly. Very bright light. Switch is easy manipulated with out pressure switch when mounted on the hand guard rail. So far 100+ rounds while mounted and no issues.
Pros: Very bright, easy to install and remove from rail
