excellent home defence.

by glocktober, from United States, RI Written on March 25, 2015
I had been thinking about getting one of these for years now and finally bit the bullet and got one. So far, the tlr-2g is everything i had hoped for. The 200 lume light is very bright indoors but not too bright. The laser is also bright enough to light up a whole room, to the point that you don't need the light in most cases. I generally leave it on laser only. The strobe light is great. Very disorienting if you are on the receiving end. Overall great product and i would recommend it to anyone looking for a laser/light combo....
Pros:
  • easy to use.
  • Solid metal construction
  • bright light with strobe
  • laser can be used day or night.
  • extra weight counter acts muzzle ri
Cons:
  • cost
  • to big for concealed carry
Best Used for:
  • home defence

Better than expected

by Mick, from United States, HI Written on March 24, 2015
Like all of Streamlight's products build quality is high.
Only possible problems are mounting of laser within light body with the effect upon alignment
axis with regard to the barrel and the reduction of battery space as a result making time
between battery changes shorter....

An improvement over Streamlight's other already great products

by marC, from United States, AL Written on January 9, 2015
The green laser is truly visible in daylight. Even bright sunlight.

This model is a little more accurate, too, since the laser comes through a hole in the reflector of the light. That puts it closer to the bore line, so it doesn't diverge as quickly as other lasers after the laser intersects with the bullet trajectory.

Mine is sighted in parallel to the bore. Many experts suggest this method. The point of impact will be withing a small area (a few inches) over a much greater range.

I may have to my another for my AR....
Pros:
  • Multiple "keys" to support different rail systems
  • Tightens easily using a coin
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Home defense pistol or AR

Solid Tool

by shh breacher up, from United States, CA Written on December 14, 2014
This light is mounted to a duty weapon and proves to help solve for many issues. Do not shy away from it because it's only 200 lumens. For a hand gun, that is sufficient. The green is so much more visible than the green you will not be disappointed. It adds another level of force and helps deter poor behavior. Also very helpful with a gas mask or when carrying a shield where getting perfect sight alignment is difficult....
Pros:
  • good battery life
  • Fast Target Aquisition
  • Green is easy to see
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Law Enforcment
  • swat

Streamlight TLR-2G

by CantSee, from United States, NE Written on December 4, 2014
This is my second unit. First, the green laser really is more visible in a variety of light conditions, and the flashlight is quite bright. However, I personally have experienced a couple of problems. One is the design. Since on this unit the laser is located within the LED flashlight reflector, the lens gets coated with gunpowder residue after only a few shots - and this affects the brightness of the laser. On the older TLRs, the laser is located below the bezel and is somewhat shielded from the blast. With my first unit, the laser failed within the first month and I sent it back for warranty work. Streamlight repaired the unit free of charge, but they marred the unit quite a bit in the process....

Best Light/laser combo ever!!!

by Joshua, from United States, CO Written on August 29, 2014
With one exception (Battery Life) this is the best light laser combo on the market... Simple attachment bolt which can be adjusted with a coin, screwdriver, or your hand. Due to its short overall length muzzle blast/powder does not foul the lenze with shorter guns i.e. S&W M&P 4", Glock 19/23/17/22, XD/XDM Series. The green laser is incredibly bright and Streamlight Engineers though about the placement of the diode. By raising the green laser diode to the left of the LED, the barrel offset is minimal when compared to other manufactures combo units. I would recommend this product to anyone thinking about a laser light combo.

9/10 have defect

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CA Written on February 12, 2014
I called streamlight after I unboxed my new TLR-2G and did a function check of the unit. When I turned on my unit it displayed two green dots. Streamlight informed me that it is a know defect in the TLR-2G's and that it is normal. While this may not totally detract from the quality, the unit is well made and very intuitive, I found the the two impact areas are distracting.
Pros: Easy to set up, to use, and well made
Cons: 9/10 have two visible green dots...

Streamlight TLR-2G LED Weapon Light with Green Laser 69250

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on July 28, 2013
Overall a nice setup complete in a tight package. Suffers from scatter of the green laser with multiple, smaller green dots in addition to the primary. Would expect more for the price but it is quite compact and fits well with glock 17 and Sig P226.
Pros: Easy setup, intuitive functionality, lightweight and unobtrusive to sight picture.
Cons: EXPENSIVE, green laser with "scatter" resulting in multiple, less intense green dots on target....
