Provides significant direct, as well as peripheral lighting out to at least 50 yards, probably a little longer. Laser is not very bright at longer distance during sunlight hours. Agree with other reviewer, should probably sight it in close. It is expensive, but all of the full featured weapon lights are. Mounted easily. Strobe function is nice feature and works well once you get acclimated to using it. Highly recommend.
