Excellent Tac Light

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, TX Written on November 7, 2012
I've had a 6P that was issued to me when I went to Iraq and I still have it and it still works great. I'm gonna have to get one of the LED versions now. My 6P was issued with the on off cap so I guess I'm fortunate there.
Pros: ease of use, extremely bright...

Expensive but worth it. Likely to temporarily blind and disorient adversary. Surprisingly wide and bright beam of light at 40 feet distance. If your mission or life depends on a product, choose this.
Pros: BRIGHT! Light weight. Continuous light, or intermittent push button.
Cons: Pricey...

Surefire 6PL LED Tactical Flashlight

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, GA Written on December 20, 2010
Good value for the money. Great illumination for my uses. I am a Field Service Engineer that works on Turbines and Generators and I need a light that will not fall apart and become foreign material in a turbine. I bought this light because the end cap on my Streamlight fell off and I had to go crawiling around under the turbine to find it. My only con is that as sold, it does not have a click-on-off feature. The included end cap has to be twisted to turn it on, requiring two hands to operate. Many times I don't have that luxury. I purchesed the Z49 end cap to get this feature that added another $45 to the price. I did provide feedback that this should be a standard feature for this light. This is my second Surefire 6P. A rechargeable feature could be useful, but so far the batteries provide excellent life for my use. And I like that Optics Planet includes free batteries.
Pros: Solid construction
Cons: Had to buy another end cap to get click on-off feature....

Great Value

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on October 9, 2010
When compared to my Maglite, there was no comparison. The surefire 6PL lit up the whole backyard or any room in the house. My only complaint is that there is no way to attach a lanyard or ring to the light and make it vunerable to dropping in a tactical situation. Otherwise, a great product for the money and I pland to get a couple more.
Pros: Bright, compact, easy to use
Cons: No lanyard attachment point...

Money well spent

Was very impressed by how bright this tac light is for it's size. Battery life is very good. Haven't dropped it yet, but it's very solidly built. Comparing it to other lights in its class, I think it is reasonably priced. Very satisfied!

High quality personal flashlight

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on March 15, 2010
It no wonder multiple agencies make use of Surefire as standard issue lights. They are high quality, study, and not weighty.
The SureFire 6PL LED Tactical Flashlight is no exception. High intensity illumination in a compact package. Would highly recommend for personal use.
Pros: clear bright white light - long lasting LED...

Surefire 6PL LED Tactical Flashlight

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 5, 2010
I bought this light for my wife to keep in her purse "just in case" as a self defense tool and utility light. While demonstrating it in our backyard, it lit up the tops of trees 40 yards away like daylight. I accidentally dropped it (while on) in the shallow end of our pool. It kept on shining (over two minutes) until I got a "grabber" to fish it out of the 45 degree water. Great light, durable, and WATERPROOF.
Pros: Small size, bright light
Cons: none...
