Sonic Defender Plus Earpieces

by L E Hunter, from United States, CO Written on December 6, 2014
I originally bought these for myself, but thought the Medium would fit. Should have gotten the large.
If Concha Bowl of ear is 1" get medium. If greater than 1", then Large. Less than 1" get Small.

These fit my 11 yo son perfectly, And he just happens to have a Youth Pheasant hunt tomorrow....

Works great!! I you may need to order a size up from small if your 5'5 or taller

by SyoGhost6, from United States, IL Written on November 29, 2014
I can most defenetly say that I can turn my TV up to 100% of the volume and it's comfortable listening with these in my ears! The TV is a Sony flat screen bought in 2010, incase you may want to know

If you are 5'5 to 5'9 ft tall mediums should work well for you, granted I'm 5'7 and bought a small, but it's still the best ear plug protection I've had so far and I'm looking to grab a set of mediums, too see it it makes a better difference. I'll still have too give the smells a try at the range by the way!...
Pros:
  • Reausable
Cons:
  • May need bigger size for a height of 6 ft or taller
Best Used for:
  • Outdoor compitition, outdoor rifle sport

Great Product

by Tom, from United States, TX Written on July 30, 2014
Lightweight, comfortable and effective. And a great price. What more could you ask for? These earplugs were a hit with my petite wife (all of 95 lb) as well as myself (a more substantial 200 lb). They were really effective for reducing harmful decibel levels of big-bore rifle ammunition when combined with small, over-the-ear protection....

Very comfortable, very effective. The added benefit of having the red central canal plug makes these very versitile for different types of shooting and environments.
Pros: comfort, quality, protection, versatility

Surefire EP4 Sonic Defender Plus Clear Earpiece - Small, 1 Pair EP4-SPR

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, KY Written on August 29, 2013
I wore my earpieces to a concert and could not tell any difference with them in or out. I called tech service and was told to pull on the spiral part to elongate it, so it would go further into the ear canal. Haven't tried them again yet. But why didn't they come with better directions? ...

Couldn't ask for anything more!

I am generally a large person (large shoes, pants, shirts, etc) so I naturally ordered the large EP4's. They feel like they were custom made for my ear. Extremely comfortable to wear and really cool how I can hear most stuff like I don't even have them in, but as soon as something loud goes off (like a .308 WIN or .40 S&W) they magically decrease its loudness. Also, I have shot with and without the mini plug in, and I prefer the plug to be out. You can actually pull the little hard plastic insert out so you don't have anything to push back in and just leave it as an open hole. Even a .308 WIN rifle was completely fine with the mini plugs out. Electronic earmuff's are cool and probably do a better job at reducing sounds, but they use batteries and are much more expensive. I would say if you had to get just one hearing reduction device, this little magical piece would be it.
Pros: Fit, comfort, price, dB reduction
Cons: None at all...

Great value and work great

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 25, 2013
Extremely easy to lose these I dropped one outside the range and had to search for like 20 mins to find it. Use the holder and get something to store them in.
Pros: Comfortable, lightweight, and tough
Cons: easy to lose, recommend using the around the neck holder....
