Tactical Tool

by BigBang, from United States, LA Written on August 29, 2014
Right off I'll start with the cons. First is expense. Things would be much less painful if purchased and issued by a department. Second is the lack of available filters. I own the non-Ultra version of this light along with red, blue, and diffuser filters which I use. The Ultra has a larger bezel and no fiters. The last con is that it's almost too bright. Use care not to "flash" yourself accidentally in mirrored or polished metal surfaces. Even white surfaces can be problematic in darkness. Don't even think of using this with a flash bang. You'll think you're walking through a glass of milk.
For the pros: it's surprisingly light for so much brightness. Quality, quality, quality...to elaborate would be pointless. The crenalatted bezel is a thug deterrent....
Pros:
  • Brightness
  • Compactness
Cons:
  • cost
  • Brightness
Best Used for:
  • Self defense
  • Police

best flashlight

This is an exceptional flashlight. 500 lumens of pure brightness. I'm still amazed how far this light reaches.

It is slightly larger than its previous model, and the beam has a yellow-ish tint to it, but damn it's bright.
The strike bezel teeth are slightly smaller but will still do damage.

Honestly all you need is this 1 flashlight. it does it all. Great price, great manufacturer.
I would recommend this flashlight to L.E., military and definitely for self-defense.

I do like the clip, it allows you to carry it up or down.

Pros: super bright, great price

Great light. I wish it was easier to find a holster for.
Pros: Very bright. Built like a tank.
Cons: The head gets hot when used on high for more than a few seconds. The "teeth" are uncomfortable if worn on the belt. I keep mine in my back pocket. ...

E2D LED Defender Ultra

Overall this is a very high quality American made illumination tool from a company that stands behind their products. It's great for everyday carry and self defense and has a beam that reaches far into the night with no rings or deformities.
Pros: American Made, High Intensity Long Range Beam, Lightweight and Robust Construction, Build Quality, Lifetime Warranty
Cons: 350 lumen average regulated output for 90 minutes with disposable lithium batteries (500 lumens is only maintained for the first few minutes), User interface isn't practical for tactical use...

VERY well built

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, PA Written on June 1, 2013
The product description on here goes back and forth describing this light at 500 to 200 lumens... This is a 500 lumen light. It is very well built and ideal for pocket carry. My only grip is that there's no strobe function.
Pros: Bright, very tough
Cons: Price, no strobe...
