Beats carrying a supply of disposable plugs. More comfortable than wearing ear muffs when using outdoors no more sweaty ears.

As a skydiver, I'm around loud noises on a regular basis--namely, Airplanes and 120mph-210+mph wind in freefall. Many skydivers wear standard earplugs on the ride up to altitude, but remove them before exiting the plane because most of us use audible altimeters in our helmets (in addition to visual altimeters on our wrists) to help us know when to break away from the group and when to pull our chutes. Before getting these Sonic Defender Plus earplugs, I couldn't hear my audible altimeter because of the wind noise and had to resort to wearing a polartec fleece mask to block out the wind noise. But, wearing a fleece mask in the middle of summer in San Diego isn't the most comfortable thing. Now, with these earplugs, the airplane noise is muffled, but I can still hear conversations and in freefall I can hear my audible altimeter without a problem. I strongly recommend them.
Great value for my money

I somehow missed the fact that there are different sizes available. The package states that "medium" fits most folks. I got large and it became very annoying after 30min.
