One of the Great Birding Optics!!

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on March 16, 2013
These are great as I've always been partial to Swift Optics.
For the price range and quality they easily rival other brands that cost 2x as much.
I own a Pair of Swift Audubon 804 H/R 8.5x44 and a old Swift Telemaster 841 Scope.
Never had any trouble with them and enjoyed immensely over the years!!
These Ultra Lites are a great size for toting for Birding and at 22oz aren't too heavy.
Feel great in your hand and the rubberized armor is great non slip.
Eye relief is great for us that wear glasses at 19.5mm.
Close focus to 6ft is great for Butterfly observation.
Water proof.....fog proof....rubber armored....everything ya want for Nature observation.
They are very bright for those overcast days or early mornings.
If you have never had a pair of roof prism binoculars before you'll love these.
Kenneth V. Rosenberg from Cornell Ornithology Lab in 2005 gave these high praise
as top choice in Birding Binoculars.

Just a hint:
If your thinking that getting a pair of 10x42 for Birding....
They aren't recommended because they are a bit too strong for most people.
Trying to find a tiny warbler in a tree with too much magnification is quite frustrating.
Been there done that so I know this is true....least it was for me.

Bottom line:
If you like Binoculars that aren't cumbersome to carry....
If you like Nature Watching.....Birding or Butterfly hunting....
If you don't want to worry about bumping you Bino's or getting them wet...
These are a essential tool you won'...

Very Good Binocular

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, ME Written on January 24, 2011
I received these as a gift. They are a very good binocular for most birders- great bright image thru the lens. However, I started birding at age 7 with oldfashioned porro prisms and I developed a preference for a wide/open elbow stance, I just could not get used to these. I wish I could. I'll save some money though, going back to a good ole porro with otherwise similar features.
Pros: Optics
Cons: Shape/Stance required...

Worth the Wait

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on January 4, 2008
This model was highly rated in the Cornell binoc evauation and it turned out to be a fine product as well as a good value for the price. The only problem was waiting until Swift could supply the product which took several months.
Pros: Crisp, bright image
Cons: Eyepiece covers separated at the expansion joint...
