The barrel does have a Vortex Flash Hider which probably makes it 17" overall. Measure your rifle's overall length before buying the "Medium" case. I merely assumed that it would accomodate a civilian-legal M4 configuration.

Pros:  Everything... Excellent quality and usefulness.
Cons:  Zipper took some working back and forth before it loosened up. Nothing a little soap can fix!

I wanted a case that had some extra storage, as the gun I intend to put in it has a number of different sighting options, and need storage for them when not installed on the rifle. This case well fit the bill, was well made, padded well and was a great value. My only complaint was that the outside utility storage pocket (front) was a bit tight to put anything bulky into when the rifle was enclosed. Admittedly I do have a bunch of stuff hanging on the front of the gun, eye: lights,lasers & bipod which does take up some extra room. A little extra material in this area would be helpful. Based on quality and value I do recommend this product.

Would make it more secure if case is turned upside down or to put ammo/binoculars in there. Good case and would buy again. Fix the zipper!
