Convenient, but narrow field of view

by Joe Trott, from United States, TN Written on August 29, 2014
When I wanted to replace my ancient pair of 8x30 binoculars, I wasn't sure what magnification I wanted, knowing that steadyness and FOV both drop as magnification increases. I bought these as an experiment, and I'm glad I did. I settled on 10x for what I really want, but these will be kept as a spare in the car. They will be good for scanning distant vistas while on trips, maybe even for night time skywatching. I wouldn't want them as an only pair, but for these uses they will do well. They're small enough to fit in the glovebox or center console....

Good but not super rugged.

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, FL Written on January 20, 2013
Good for the cost. But shouldn't be relied on for long term durability. Rubber caps came off after light use. Can be glued back on but shows lack of sturdiness.
Pros: Low price, compact
Cons: Not very sturdy...
