Tasco Shot Saver Bore Sighter 30/35E

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, AZ Written on May 13, 2011
I bought this to use on a variety of Guns, but I found that if you are not using a "standard type set-up" i.e. A bolt action rifle with a scope, the stock may set the optics up too high and the Bore Sighter can not be adjusted to make up this hight difference. I was trying to sight-in a Reticle type sight on my Hi Point 4595 Carbine. The sight was mounted on a Weaver type rail and was one inch higher than the Bore Sighter. I also found the tension mount (a spring) did not keep the Bore sighter from rotating, you would have to use a stand and maybe some Duct tape to have this work.
Pros: Cost and large variety calibers
Cons: limited by hight of stock...
Would recommend: No

Poor quality arbors

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on May 24, 2010
The .177, .22 and .30 caliber arbors are too loose fitting to use. I was able to substitute the .32 arbor for .30 caliber use. The .270 arbor was fine. I have an older version of this product that did not have the .270 arbor and that was my main reason for purchasing this new one.
Pros: Optics good
Cons: Arbors loose for some calibers...
Would recommend: No
