TrijiconACOG 6x48 Dual Ill w/Mount, Red Chev. BAC .50 BMG

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on May 15, 2014
This 6x48 ACOG is built like a tank to handle abusive recoil from the .50 BMG. I found the red chevron BAC reticle a dream to use and easy to get on zero and stay on zero. This is a great option for shorter range application of the .50 cal.
Pros: Built super strong fo use with the .50 BMG
Cons: Heavy optic, would like more magnification...

No buyers remorse

Mine is mounted on a Rock River LAR-8 Elite Operator. For me, the chevron is faster than the triangle, and pretty close to a dot. I have a 10 year old grandson, and he cleans up on the steel targets at 200 yards with this optic. I believe this will last for him to give it to his son, assuming we all still have guns by then... This is the top of the line, I recommend this.
Pros: It's an ACOG
Cons: slightly heavy, but isn't going to break...

Second to none

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on May 15, 2014
I have been running this on my OBR for a few months now. It is great out to 500 meters (that is the longest range available to me). The glass is crystal clear and I really like the green reticle. I was considering the red chevron, but my buddy, who was in the Army, told me to go with green. It is much easier to see than the red, I guess...
Pros: Glass...

Trijicon TA646

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on May 15, 2014
I was issued one of these on my M249 while in the Army. It is one of the most durable/versatile optics available for that gun. If you have a machine gun, there is no better choice than a TA648...
Pros: accurate and durable
Cons: heavy...

Best in class

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on May 14, 2014
As the title says, just the best in class. you wont find a tougher made optic that can take the abuse that this one can. Trijicon made the bar impossible to meet.
Pros: tough, clear...

TJ-RS-ChvronFlat-TA648-308H

I purchased this scope with the horse shoe reticle to compliment another ACOG I have with the Chevron reticle. I think the dot type reticle is a bit faster to acquire than the chevron. I keep the Chevron on a 16" .308 and the Horse Shoe on a 20" .308. ACOG scopes are superior for quick center mass type shooting. No eye relief issues, clear field and reasonable magnification for work up to 100 yards. If you are looking for longer range or precision shooting these are not for you.
Pros: rugged, clear, quick
Cons: expensive, very heavy...

Trijicon ACOG 6x48 Dual Ill Riflescope w/Mount, Red Chevron 5.56 recticle

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on March 13, 2013

It is a very effective scope alas size and weight on a M-16 or AR-15 platform and especially in the M-4 configuration makes it cumbersome. I am still very happy with it in my 16 inch heavy barrel LWRC SPR.
Pros: well made, quick aguisition, accurate
Cons: size and weight...

TA648-308 review LMTMWS 308.

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on January 1, 2013
ACOG is in my opinion, the undisputed leader in battle rifle optics. The designs are very well executed and have in many cases not only revolutionized the imaging field but also set the standard. The TA648-308 was chosen by the British as their primary battle ready modular weapons sniping optics over all other available options regardless of cost. Clearly the ACOG648 is not a scope in the usual sense however, it addressed effectively the requirements to quickly, and accurately acquire targets at a distance in battle conditions, effectively. The one significant drawback is the weight, not the size, although it is a monster. I have many weapons and sights and would still recommend this choice of riflescope over any other if the criteria is to effectively, accurately and easily engage targets with precision at considerable distances under battlefield conditions. Otherwise choose a more traditional riflescope. This is a very unique, costly piece.
Pros: Excellent optical imaging, target acquisition, magnification.
Cons: Heavy, heavy, heavy....
