Very Bright Sights

by Poka Girl, from United States, AL Written on November 26, 2014
Purchased these sights for my husband's birthday, and boy, he flipped when he opened the package. As you know, EVERYTHING, involved with a Walther can be pretty pricey. Thanks, OP, for offering this fine product at such a great price, for the opportunity to put a smile on hubbies face and for the blazing free delivery!...
Pros:
  • Great visibility in low light.
Cons:
  • Would be nice if Trijicon included the tool for the front sights
Best Used for:
  • Improvement to the factory sights which are deplorable for a Walther product.

Great sights

by Cody, from United States, NY Written on September 23, 2014
I installed these sights on my Walther PPQ. They installed easily (make sure you get the correct hex key and nut driver first to remove the Walther plastic sights) and didn't require any adjustments as they were perfect from the first shot. If you want sights that really light up in the dark, are easy to see in the light, these are perfect....

Trijicon sights

by Tony, from United States, TX Written on September 22, 2014
These sights are awesome and easy to install. Pricing is much lower at Optics Planet than anywhere else!!! Plus free shipping. This is an awesome buy! The front orange and rear green colors offer a good contrast. These sights fit my Walther PPQ perfectly with no modifications. Took less than 5 minutes to field strip the slide, remove the old sights and install these new ones. There's a good youtube video showing the whole process. Highly recommended!...
Pros:
  • easy installation
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Home defense, LEO/Military use

Easy fit, good value

by lanzer, from United States, CA Written on August 29, 2014
Default sights for the PPQ is one of the few bad things about the gun, not only is it cheap, but it tends to shoot high even at 25yards. Though the Trijicon sight is a easy remedy. The front sight is higher than the stock sight at just the right height, and having tritium at this price point makes it a no brainer....
Pros:
  • solid
  • glows in the dark
Cons:
  • None

Great contrast, great sights

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, OR Written on September 24, 2013
They are fantastic sights and with the contrast, target acquisition is quick and easy. They are nice and bright and I like that the front sight is easier to pick up. I would buy them again for another P99 in a heart beat.

The only drawbacks are:
You need the Meprolight install tool to mount the front sight. A small socket will not work, it has to be that tool. Make sure to use some low strength loctite.

The shape of the rear sight is square so you do lose the shape of the factory rear sight, no big deal though.

The front sight is higher than the mid factory sight most P99s come with. At close range this is no problem but plan on practicing with them to get used to your new point of impact. It's not a big difference.
Pros: Excellent sights, very bright, great contrast between front and rear
Cons: Need Meprolight install tool...

Easy to install once you have the instructions

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WI Written on April 29, 2013
Once I found instructions on the web about how to remove the rear Walther sight by depressing the plunger these sights were a breeze to install.
Pros: Easy to install, glows, metal instead of oem plastic
Cons: Had to google more thorough Walther specific instructions...

Works exactly as described

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, OH Written on May 20, 2012
These sights work great. The green / green glows perfectly, yet are still easy to use during the day due to the white rim around each gas lamp. Only trouble is to install the front sight, you need a rather small 1/20" hex wrench to remove factory sight, and a 3/16" driver to install the new sight. Other than that, works perfectly.
Pros: Bright, Easy to use
Cons: Slightly tricky to get front sight on....

Pros: Clean sight picture, typical Trijicon quality.
Cons: Front sight is a bear to get the screw started(not their fault, its a design issue)...

happy with night sights

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, KY Written on January 16, 2012
My p99 is my night stand gun. Hence, why I got night sights for it. In the dark the tritium lamps light up the sights beautifully. At the range, in the light, the white outlines facilitate fast sight acquisition. The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that on my pistol the lip at the bottom of the rear sight is too small to fit snugly in the slot milled in the slide of my P99. This causes the rear sights sit at a slight angle because of the sprung rear sight detent on the P99. I don't notice any accuracy loss as a result, but if you press down on the rear sight there is some play in the fit.
Pros: excellent night time visibility, noticeably different colors even to partially color blind user.
Cons: on the rear sight, the lip that holds the sight in place is slightly too small for my pistol....
