Awesome Sight- Combat Proven

by romes, from United States, DE Written on March 10, 2015
I was in Afghanistan in '09 with the Marine Corps. My LT's father bought him an RMR for his issued acog, was this model. One day while linking up with a resupply he his an ied, shredding his rifle, but the rmr and acog were still in working condition, even holding zero. That was enough proof for me that this optic is well worth purchasing!...

Trijicon RMR Dual Illuminated Red Dot Sight

by Aprilia, from United States, VT Written on February 17, 2015
Despite it being called a "Red Dot" sight, it actually has a 9.0MOA GREEN dot. Bright, fast target acquisition, easily mounted on my new Glock 34 MOS. The MOS series comes with four adapter plates for various popular sights, the Trijicon RMR being plate #2. So with my particular application no additional mounting hardware was required. The dual illumination works well during the day, even with substantial cloud cover; however it is not as bright as its battery operated counterparts at night. Since I use this pistol strictly for target shooting at an outdoor range, it works perfectly for my purposes. As a tactical sight for self-defense at night, it could potentially be harder for target acquisition....
Pros:
  • Fast target aquisition.
  • bright sight in daylight
Cons:
  • not especially bright at night
Best Used for:
  • Target shooting under 100 yards

Outstanding Trijicon quality

by huntfamily5, from United States, OH Written on September 9, 2014
I own a Trijicon ACOG that dresses my AR15 and a Trijicon RXR that dresses my Beretta carbine - so when I was ready to dress my Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 Rem mag revolver I knew where to turn. I selected the Trijicon RMR with the green dot option as opposed to the amber dot. You truly need the green dot if you plan on shooting in bright day light conditions because the amber is simply not bright enough. I sent the frame off to Amerigun and had a Trijicon RMR base installed. I sighted the Ruger in and all is well. I hope to take an Ohio buck with my Ruger and Trijicon RMR combination this fall. Optics plant had a good price to start with and honored a 5% military discount so the choice was easy....
Pros:
  • price was right
  • quality product
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hunting

RMR Dual Illuminated - Green Dot

by Spime, from United States, CA Written on July 30, 2014
Runs perfect on my G19. Dot is clear and crisp. Zero does not shift after hundreds of rounds. Lense has a slight tint on it but other than that works great during daytime range. I would recommend this to any rmr capable handgun or rifle....

Sight is better then the service that delivered it.

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on April 30, 2013
I purchased this sight to complement my FNX-45 Tactical. I chose the dual illuminated sight because I already had one from Meprolight in amber on my MAK-90 and I was pleased with its utility. I have either Trijicon or Mepro night sights on every weapon I own. In general Mepro makes brighter sights then Trijicon but the pistol in question was designed to use an RMR so I chose the green dot partly due to price and partly due to its "TACTICOOLNESS" It is just that. The finished rig with a Streamlight TLR-2s is $2500.00 worth of cool. The RMR functions best in bright light which is what I wanted it for. In complete darkness the tritium is bright enough but not impressive. If you employ the aforementioned light the dot in not visible at all( note the listed con). Which is why I have a laser. If you are looking for a sight that does it all well in all light conditions keep looking. Possibly a battery powered model will fit the bill for you. If you are looking for a sight that will give you an edge in a color that will be extremely visible on the brightest days and you plan to use it as a tool that is part of a whole sighting system this is definitely the right choice. Sadly this is the second one of them I had to buy. The first was defective and the genius technicians at optics planet disagreed so I had to buy a second one wait for it to be shipped then return the first to get a refund. The second worked fine but it will be the last thing I buy from Optics Planet. Which is sad beca...
