Trijicon RMR dual illumination

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CO Written on August 17, 2013
If you are in a location darker than your target, you can not see the dot. If your target is light colored you can't see the dot. So as long as your target is dark and more dimly lit than you it's great.
Pros: No batteries
Cons: Everything else...
Would recommend: No

Trijicon RMR amber dot reflex sight, RM05-38-DMO

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CO Written on May 19, 2013
The Trijicon RMR was very disapppointing and a total waste of a lot of money compared to Eotech. The Eotech has a far better sight picture, definition, and illumination. I never did obtain a satisfactory sight in with the Trijicon RMR.

Pros: amber dot very bright in daylight
Cons: Eotech is less expensive and better than the Trijicon RMR...

RM05 does not hold zero!

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on March 10, 2013
the unit does not hold zero right out of box. windage adjustment moves by itself from the recoil of the firearm. sent back to Trijicon on my own dime. let's hope the unit will be fixed. this should not happen for the price they charge, at least not right out of the box.
Pros: very compact
Cons: will not hold zero...

Trijicon RMR tritium/fiber optic dual power

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, IN Written on February 4, 2013
I bought this sight for a tactical 12 gauge and while it would work great, it's too nice and the 9moa dot really is to small for me as I would rather have this on a battle rifle or pistol. So, I put it on a carbine and I really like it. I think a bigger dot would work best for a shotgun but this sight is top quality and I decided my shotgun simply doesn't need anything this nice. I also like the versatility which allows it to be mounted on a pistol and this would be great because it's so small and lightweight
Pros: Tough, clear, small and practically imperceptible weight, multiple uses
Cons: Price, but quality...

Great red dot

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, VA Written on May 21, 2012
I put this on a handgun and it is great. The only thing I would recommend in a high light situation is to put some electrical tape over the top as the dot is too bright.
Pros: light weight and easy to function
Cons: dot too bright in very high light...

Great Sight

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, AL Written on March 31, 2011
Wonderful sight, super fast target acquisition, simple to sight in, works well for pistols too (although the battery only version is much more compact), dims with light conditions, no moving parts = shock proof (even for a .50 cal), many base plates available to mount nearly anywhere, tritium to back up the battery after the first year (or until you have time to replace the battery) and then the battery to back up the tritium after 10 years. The only thing that keeps me from giving this sight a perfect 100 is that there's no power button. It would be nice to be able to power it down while the firearm is stored. Being able to do so could extend the battery life to well beyond a year before replacing would be needed. And just for kicks, a desert color would be nice. All in all, you can beat Trijicon quality and you can't go wrong using this as a primary sight or as a quick close quarters addition to your magnifier scope.
Pros: Simple, rugged, compact, dual illumination
Cons: No power button!, no desert color...
Would recommend: Yes
