Great piece of equipment

I put this on Sig 516. Zero'd up quickly. I've heard mixed reviews on this so here is my 2 cents. Feels solid. I shot from from under a shaded roof on a bright sunny day and the sight was bright and clear. I went into the open sunlight still very bright. Shot against a white target, black target and a red target. Still bright and no problem seeing it. Held zero perfect through a hundred round day. No batteries needed is awesome. In my home it's dim but so is my home. You can still see it because your eyes adjust. The only time I can't see it is in my home pointing it directly at the lightbulb in my living room. At first in my home I thought I made the wrong choice purchasing it but once at the range I quickly realized why law enforcement and military personnel like these things. This particular mount option happens to absolute co witness with my Sig flip up iron sights. Love it and I'd buy another...

This sighting system is great. Basically place the dot on the target and the round hits where ever you point it at. Of course provided you have the basic skills of steady shooting. We use this on all of our AR 15s at work and I want to maintain this on my personal rifle. The site usually does not need readjustment once zeroed in.
Pros: Easy to obtain sight picture
Cons: During dusk or dawn, glare can be a problem...

It is a good peice of kit

The polarizing filter is great for high glare areas, but since the unit is designed for both eyes open shooting it's probably better to just have polarizing sunglasses. The small dot makes the sight effective for 5" targets out to 200 yards and larger targets at greater ranges. The dot is large enough to pick up quickly, especially in bright light and in near total darkness. It does appear dimmer in varied lighting, for example inside a structure looking out through a small window into the sunlight. The design is ingenious with the light gathering coil making the optic useful in bright light and 12 years of battery free low light targeting. Even after the tritium expires the sight will be useful during the daytime. All in all I think this is the best option for holographic sights. I have a friend that uses the larger version and he prefers the larger window, so perhaps that would make a better option for some people.
Pros: Tough, effective, reliable, small footprint
Cons: it's expensive....

This sight is strictly for AR-15 height use, as the mount sits too high to use with a low cheek weld. The dot is crisp and bright in low- to mid-light, but is drowned out when pointed near a light source. A good sight for CQB to 200 yards.
Pros: Lightweight, Crisp Dot, Battery-Less, Easy to Use, Perfect Dot Size
Cons: Drowned Out by Light Sources, Small Objective Lens...

Old technology

I would recomend this to anyone for use strictly as a reflex site. The optic sits high due to the mounts and is almost worthless with a magnifier. Would be a great optic if you wanted a battery-less alternative to an Aimpoint or a EOtech. Very robust, its a shame it isnt more compatible.
Pros: No batteries, clear crisp dot, easy to use and install, sturdy
Cons: Difficult to use with magnifiers due to design, small viewing window, dark retical...
