almost perfect

I love this freaking thing. a red dot with a huge lense, no batteries, and self iluminates at night! sweet! It's almost perfect. The amber dot is about the same brightness in low light as it is in NO light. that sucks but i can deal with it. The green, orange, gold glare off of the front 42mm lense screams "hey! im right here! shoot me in the head!" hope they make a glare filter that fixes that soon! oh, and it doesn't come with a dust cover like my ACOG did.
still love it! i would buy another if i had something to put it on.
Pros: easy, idiot proof, no batteries.
Cons: low light gathering not very good....

This sight would be perfect if more reticles were offered other than just a dot. A chevron would be perfect.
Pros: No batteries. No sun fade
Cons: Choice of reticles...

I like the RX30 and am using it on my police patrol rifle instead of my Eotech. The Eotech was great, but for me the RX30 fits a little better. I love not having to worry about batteries or turning it on or off. It can sit in my patrol car and if I need it I just grab it, jack a round in the chamber, and go. The dot will only wash out if I'm in a dark room and I light up a white wall, or if I'm inside and the target is white or light tan outside in bright sunlight. I cowitness my front sight so it hasn't been a big deal. When I'm shooting I don't notice the colored glass too much. It's more when I'm practicing room clearing at home that I sometimes focus on the glass and not the target. You do get used to it so it hasn't been an issue. I hope the next generation of reflex sights will eliminate the colored glass. The RX30 is a big improvement over the RX09, Trijicon's previous reflex sight. About a year ago I bought an RX09 with the "special forces" 4.3 MOA dot. I hated it. The dot was tiny, dim, washed out easily, and the glass was dark and distracting. The RX30 6.5 MOA dot is bigger and brighter, the glass appears less distracting, and the sight itself seems more robust.

Pros: No batteries. No switches. Dot size is a good compromise between speed and precision, and is bright enough for most situations. Sight seems well-made and robust.
Cons: Dot may wash out if you are in relative darkness and the target is very light (like whit...
