Acog/docter scope review

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on July 31, 2009
I mounted the scope on a MSAR. You have to reverse the rail mounting otherwise the tightening bolts/screws interfere with cycling the bolt manually (You will skin your knuckles). Optics Planet has great customer service dept.
Pros: Great scope for 223 tactical rifles
Cons: see comments...

Crystal Clear Sighting

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WA Written on July 3, 2009
This is the highest quality sight I own. It is crystal clear, the daytime illumination is superior, the DOCOPS is well designed and spot on. Hardened outer surfaces are superior to resisting impact. Generally, if you are looking for something in this class that is tough as nails, this is a superior piece of gear.
Pros: Great Glass, illuminated cross-hairs

Top Grade Near/Far Sight

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, WA Written on June 15, 2009
This is the best near/far combo sight I have seen. The ease of target acquisition for both short and long distance is superior. The clarity of the glass is also top notch. Daylight visibility of the illuminated reticle is great. They only thing to be aware of is that a riser may be needed for flattop rifles to get it to a more comfortable shooting position, but that is a case by case comfort thing, not in any way related to the superior quality of this product. Also, the MilSpec grade of this product was a consideration for me as I am hard on things and need my kit to keep up. This does that in spades. Nifty cover for the DocOps as well. A+ rating.
Pros: Crystal clear glass, beautiful day visible red aim point, DURABLE

Best AR15 scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on March 26, 2009
Can't imagine having another scope on my AR15, all around scope does everything, 20-400yrds this is the scope for you. Red dot is nice for quick target acquisition, would of liked a 4moa dot but would only help past 100yrds, Scope is great, super clear and bright, rectile is spot on, routinely shoot small groups at 200, even 300yrds. Was shooting soda cans at 300yrds the other day with my carbine length AR15. Scope easily puts you on a silhouette at 400yrds, have not got a chance to test past 400 yet but i am sure the scope will not be the limiting factor out past 500.

If you can afford it, i suggest it
Pros: everything, durability, setup, performance, size
Cons: price, but you get what you pay for. ...

TA31DOC AGOG Sight Review

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 23, 2009
This is an excellent piece of optics and will take a great deal of punishment while staying very accurate.

I'd used one like it quite a bit while in the military and liked the ease of attachment and solidly maintained zero.

I'd never used the red dot attachment but it sighted in easily and is also very accurate with a faster acquisition on snap shots.

My only complaint was a minor scratch on the eyepiece lens (which might have occurred when the 7 MOA "Docter" red dot sight was mounted. The blemish was relatively minor and I didn't have the patience to send it back and wait for a new one.
Pros: Rugged and accurate
Cons: Minor scratch on eyepiece lens...
