Troy HK front battlesight

by Maurice, from United States, NJ Written on August 26, 2014
This addition to my HK416 is great, obviously it is a must to purchase the rear Troy diopter to go with this front sight. Great iron sight, no need to zero. I mounted it and it was ready to go! This is the best iron signt I have ever used. I upgraded to the tritium night sights incase the need for nignt combat ops is required....

Solid, bright, good sight picture

by BF, from United States, IL Written on August 8, 2014
This is my favorite BUIS set, though I would not hesitate to use them as primary sights as well. A bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. The tritium is bright and the sights stay locked tight to the rail....

Eye Can See It

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on April 17, 2014
I was undecided about the HK style rather than traditional but have grown to like this style. It frames the target nicely and allows quick range guesstimating. The overall quality of any Troy Industry product I've purchased is outstanding and this sight is no exception. I'm pleased with the night time visibility of the tritium and the blade is not too thick. I have an XS tritium insert post on a fixed front sight that is much wider making any kind of precision difficult. This unit is a better compromise. Be aware that when adjusting elevation you'll have to travel a full rotation to retain the view of the tritium as it is only on one facing. Also, I've noticed that this unit a like other Troy folding units tends to torque twist slightly to the left when mounting. This could be corrected if the mount ran through 2 slots on the rail rather than 1 but this would defeat the small footprint this unit takes up. ...

Perfect fit, easier acquisition

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, VA Written on July 20, 2013
Replaced my factory front sight on my Sig 716 with the troy battle sight tritium HK style. Much better sight than factory, lines up perfect with the rear factory sight. Much faster target acquisition not only at night but during the day its always right there. No need for rear tritium IMO but to each his own. Highly recommend to anyone looking for front sight replacement.
Pros: Easier acquisition not only at night but day time lines up much faster for my eyes, better than factory sight
Cons: none...

Great sights!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on November 5, 2012
These Troy sights are great! The little bit extra for the tritium is worth it if you may end up in low light situations. The front sight has a tritium dot on the post that is rotatable and the rear sight has two tritium dots halfway up the sight (one on each side). Lining these up in the dark is easy, line up the three dots and you're on target.

I definitely dig the HK style sights as I find them easier to center in the rear sight than a standard M4 winged post.

These mount of your rail with a flat head screwdriver. Super easy to put on and take off it needed. They also come with a Troy front sight adjustment tool. Definitely recommended!
Pros: Easy to install, folds away easily, accurate
Cons: A little pricey...

Great Iron Sight for Night Shoots

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, PA Written on March 8, 2012
For night shooting with iron sights, tritium dots enable the shooter to compose a 'dark' sight picture (ie, without lighting the sights themselves or the target, then flash a weapon light for target identification before firing. The HK-style 'ears' help the shooter quickly judge whether the dot is centered on the target and help speed any required adjustments.
This 'dark' sight picture technique is extremely useful in a self-defense situation and provides the competition shooter more latitude to protect night vision in low-light stages of carbine matches.
Pros: Tritium insert, HK style
Cons: Relatively small tritium dot...
