I purchased this assault/1 day pack after coming back from annual training and realizing that the larger Alice sized pack I had purchased before hand was to large and impractical for daily use. I was originally looking at a pack from another manufacturer that was double the price at my local PX. Decided to give this one a try instead and have been very pleased with it so far.
I've been using it daily for a month and a half now and have had no issues with it. It has a velcro pouch on the back that is capable of holding my Camelbak 3L bladder. The bladder pokes out a little when its.full, but doesn't go over the top of the bag, and once I drink down about a quarter or third it recesses into the pouch fully. There doesn't seem to be any dedicated spots for the tube or bite valve, but there are spots on the shoulder strap that I can feed the bite valve through that aren't in the way.
The bag had two main, two minor, and one sub compartment, plus the Hydration bladder pouch.
The two main compartments are very well sized for the bag, and the first major compartment has the small sub compartment.
I can fit a small netbook or a standard reading magazine in the major compartment for a width and height example and pens, shaving razors, or G17/22 mags in the sub compartment. The netbook sits in a mesh pouch in this main compartment.
The second main compartment is well sized and I can fit a whole MRE in it, or more broken down.
The top secondary compartment is great ...
