underwater: you can't rotate the lens settings or it'll leak, it doesn't give much range even in fairly clear water. dryland: the dim setting is too bright, the red lense is too dark, found it turned on a couple of times in my cargo pocket even with the strap wrapped around the button. overall: works good for nighttime kayaking, hiking and hunting firewood but they should give a dim setting that's not night-blinding and stop it from turning itself on when jostling around.
Cons: turns on in pocket...
