Stunning!

Going out on my birding hikes, I had been using an older cheaper pair of binoculars for the past few years. I read an article stating these were great, and decided to pull the trigger. Boy!! I can not believe what I was missing. These optics are amazing, clean razor sharp images, much brighter and higher quality than my old ones. Totally worth it!
Pros: Great quality, very durable, incredible value
Cons: Needs a different strap if you are going on a couple mile trek...

My wife and I use these binoculars for bird watching. The quality has greatly enhanced our enjoyment of the sport. The price was low compared to other binoculars with similar quality. We highly recommend.

Very satisfied

Great view, bright and sharp. Feels good in the hands.
Strap can be interchanged between binocs and case.
My only gripe would be about the case. I like that it has a belt loop, I usually have a camera around my neck also.
I wish the case was a bit larger. Its a tight fit for the binoculars.
I also wish the case had double zippers. That would allow me to leave it open at the top to retrieve the binocs easier.
Pros: Great view, diopter lock
Cons: case is a bit tight...

Vanguard Endeavor ED 8x42

These are the first set of binoculars I've purchased since I began birding about two years ago. I purchased these binoculars around Memorial Day of this year. I compared them directly to several other binoculars in the same price range. I found their image quality (brightness and sharpness) to be superior to the others I tried. The binoculars were extremely easy to set up, and the locking diopter setting ensures they stay that way. I've used them several times a month since then, including attending two birding festivals. I've found them easy to handle, very easy to focus quickly, and light enough that you aren't fatigued after hours in the field. Highly recommended without reservation!!
Pros: Value

Fantastic glass! Unbeatable at this price!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CO Written on September 26, 2012
Being an amateur photog, I've used very good quality Nikon and Fuji camera lenses before as well as high quality rifle optics (Trijicon, Leupold, etc.) for competition shooting and hunting. With that background in mind, I decided to upgrade my old school binocs with a new set of good quality roof prism glass for hunting, shooting and hiking but I didn't want to throw down 2 grand on a set of El Swaros.

I kept my budget at around $500 and after reading many good reviews for the Vanguard Endeavour ED binocs, I decided to purchase a set from OP. Upon receiving I spied upon my neighbors at around 8 at night and was completely blown away with the optical quality, especially in low light! One can find various reviews online describing the quality in detail but I will say that these easily match some of my better Nikon camera glass in OQ which is very impressive considering the cost of those lenses.

A few minor complaints though: 1) I don't like the neon green colored highlights of the exterior at all. The color choice somewhat reflects a hey, look at me! cheapness that is completely unnecessary for binoculars I this class. In other words, its a color one would find in a Ford Focus, not a BMW 3 series. The neon green is overly bright as well, especially when spying on your neighbors at 8 oclock at night. I would prefer something more subtle like olive drab, matte black or desert tan. Said colors would be more marketable towards the hunting/tactical crowd as well. 2...

Vanguard Endeavor ED

These binos have great resolution and the best ergonomics I have ever seen. They are so perfect to hold it seems aas if they are an extension of your hands. In direct comparison to Vortex Viper HD'and Zeiss Conquest HD's, the Vanguards spank the Vortex and are at least as good or slightly better than the $1000 Zeiss'. I looked through many binos before ordering these based on the great reviews they got on Birdwatching.com, and consider it the absolute best bargain in the optics market. The ergonomics are better than any binocular than I have ever held, and im talking binoculars costing thousands of dollars. I can recommend these without reservation as the best bargain in the optics market period !!!
Pros: Fantastic resolution, best ergonomics ever encountered
Cons: Absolutely NONE!!!...
